I always watch Hikaru No Go auctions on Mandarake.
I have bid on a few, but once they pass 60,000, then
I know its gone past what I am willing to spend. What
I have found is that they usually end right at about 60,000
or less, but there are 2 current auctions on Mandarake
that are just insanely high.

I tell ya, I love Sai, but not that much.
Glad its not my pocetbook suffering. Guess
I will hold out and see what else comes up.
What's up with Hikaru No Go all of a sudden

Sorry to hear the price went to high for you. I don't understand what has been happening lately. So many cels and sketches are selling for outrageous prices. I know cels are starting to become slightly scarce do to anime being CGI now, but still... I guess more and more people are starting to collect therefore pushing up the prices outrageously, even on the 'not so great' cels.
No, there's some weird flucuation going on right now for production artwork. I mean, look at FMA. There are genga/layout sets going for over $1k every week. The ones I got for half that price on Mandy are 5 times nicer...It's weird I tell ya =/! CCS cels are insane, and nothing really that nice...
I dunno what it is...But it looks like the time to sell if you've got what the market is demanding, but it might only be with japanese collectors.
