Very well done Ralph, Mew and Mamo! Glad you picked up some special pieces that will add further acclaim to your collections.

What Misa was saying about her 'win and loose' confusion is very frustrating- hope that gets sorted out in your favour, Misa ^__^

Wooo...that was a hoot! :vict

Well, since BWA is now over, I'll briefly mention my victorious splurge.

I won three of the three main cels that I targetted. I also snagged four other cels that I liked as well, including one bank cel. I think I did quite well for the amount of money I spent...especially considering I'll never see some of these pieces for sale again.

Maybe it's just my take on it, but Mandarake appeared to be much cheaper than using the deputies. Perhaps competition was diminshed or it might be due to the comission fees that most deputies charge. However, had some of these pieces been on YJ, I'm sure that I probably would have spent just as much if not more so for bidwar fees(although I would have spent more on fees for the less expensive pieces I won).

Anywho, if you don't mind, Ossifer Seiya will be escorting me to Mandarake so I can pay my bill. I must free the Bishies!

Well, it was my first BWA. I probably didn't have nearly the funds necessary to "seriously" compete. I ended up losing on all three of the CCS hanken gengas (2 by only one bid!) and the CLAMP shikishi of Ashura by...a lot. (laughs)

But next time I'll actually be prepared for good CLAMP items, especially now that hanken materials have appeared on the open market. :^^:

Sensei wanders in and looks around cluelessly.

I don't bid much on Mandarake because the prices make my head spin (though not as much as retirement properties in not-very-attractive neighborhoods). But maybe the above debauche explains why last night I happened to see a really nice CCS costume cel going unbidden-for on the Everyday Auction. I felt sorry for it and gave it a minimum bid, knowing in the morning the feared Mandarake sharks would come in and eat my bid alive.

Well, evidently the sharks were all snoring, belly-full, under their respective bananafruit trees, as my teensy bid stood up.

[Update: rallihir saw where one big shark was sleeping off his recent sumptuous meal: http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n39525579. That price ties the #8 top price for a CCS cel in my informal list.]

Yet Minnowman gets a little Mandarake prize too! Image
Congrats to all the winners and serious pats of moral support for poor misa Image who deserved much better luck than she (apparently) had.

WTF???!?!!

I logged in this morning and it clearly said I won the Trunks cel and that the would be sending me shipping info.

I just logged in again to show my friend the cel, and now it says I was "OUTBID".

So, WTF?

I'm just in tears now. This has been such a horrible day, I can't even believe this. I e-mailed Mandarake, but somehow I expect to hear nothing back.
I forgot you have a sequence mate to that Trunks cel Misa. I really hope that's an error. Those cels would look so good together.

Hi,
Sadly I didn't win what I was going for on BWA but I am not really surprised. The prices for the higher end SM cels were insane and I think I would rather spend my money on AnC. Next time....

I saved most of the DBZ auctions for watching and had planned to bid on the Maron cel but since I was away for the weekend I had no way to bid for her. I hope to see her in somones gallery soon!

I'm still in shock at how much the Totoro w/BG went for. I figured it would fetch around $7K, but it went for more than double that! $15K for a Totoro cel(albeit a fine and rare specimen) is astounding!
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.

Why do I get the feeling that this item is going to push my commercial cel out of its most popular item spot?
