The Kenshin cel that's there is a sequence mate to one I own :) In fact, if I hadn't fallen asleep early last night I would have put it up on eBay.

There's nothing there for me. Yay! :yay

And I think I have enough sketches from that "one show" already.

Does anyone know what this is?

I'm tempted to bid because I collect the show and they look like original drawings, but I've never seen anything like this.

It appears to be a cel that has a sheet of lined paper stuck to the back of it.

I know it's Meiken Jolly. I'm wondering if it's a book of sketches? Storyboard? Settei? Originals? I've never seen sketches presented like that before?

They probably don't realize it at all. I just bought one off Mandarake a month ago and didn't realize it myself. Though I guess it should have been obvious, I just didn't think about it at the time. I didn't spend anywhere near the amount that this one is going for and it was the same book. It will be interesting to see how high it gets if other people think it is the original.

I was thinking correction set myself when I clicked on the link. The line color, especially on the 2nd and 3rd photos reminds me of old carbon copy paper that transfers blue when drawn or traced. Though I could certainly be wrong about the production process for that series. :shrug

It's pretty obvious from those pictures- the staples on the edge give it away [originals wouldn't be stapled for a start], it's a studio copy.
The current bid of 30,000y isn't much for nearly 800 pages anyway. Most of the copy settei/storyboard sets I collect are around 50-90 pages and cost up to 20,000y.
