Question regarding Mandarake (bidding)

Post by EternityOfPain »

Hey guys, I was wondering how does Mandarake bidding exactly work? Does the amount you type in represent your max (as in bidding will go up to your max etc) or is what ever number you put in the auction jump to? Just wondering if its like ebay system where when you place a bid it will automatically bid for you up to that amount etc.

Any help greatly appreciated. 8)

It's exactly like eBay or YJ. Your max is a proxy, and the price will only go up as others bid against you or as you bid against others.

They also extend the auction if you bid in the last five minutes, like on YJ.

My experience is the bidding amt is higher in Mandarake auction than YJ, at least for the shows I like.

Their Big Web Auctions often go for insane amounts.

Their Every Day Auctions aren't as bad - usually.

If you're lucky, people forget Mandy and auctions go without counter-bids. :evilblk

That is true, as I've won several cels before expecting the price to skyrocket, and I guess many people either forget or are not available at the time to place bids. However, the 5 minute extension really gets annoying especially if you are anxiously waiting (at your job) and want the auction to hurry up and end. ;) X|

Yeah, big auction has good stuff, but crazy and the 5 minutes extension is evil. I once go back and forth with another bidder for over an hour. I finally gave up. The price was so high, the real winner is Mandarake. Oh, don't forget the 10% add-on to big auction and the registration fee to participate :x
