Why is this auction so high?

Post by birdie »

I don't collect Dragonball Z anymore and occasionally I do see something that makes me regret that decision. But this auction.....I don't get what's the big deal:

I know that there have been discussions about the fluctuating prices of Dragonball Z but this one baffles me. :?

8O I'm stumped too, that price is a little on the ridiculous side.

Perhaps it's a matching douga/genga for a cel that someone owns?

Either that or two people cast the "Either way I'm gonna win" bid, thinking that the other bidder would never think to bid that high.

Well there are 38 sheets, but likewise i'm not very well versed when it comes to DBZ prices, let alone gengas.

*shrug*, someone out there must know something we don't i guess.

Probably two people that have seen the sets in person and know that most of the 38 are really nice. 38 sketches times 3160 yen (about $30.each)

Well, it's true that ever since the onslaught of CG, sketches have been getting a lot more respect than they used to. But... considering the extremes to which some of us will go under the circumstances, I'd second at least the possibility that one of the bidders owns a matching cel. Wouldn't you, birdie? :^^:
