DBZ Hanken Cel Question

Post by Goldknight »

Is it really hanken? Anyone know where it may be from. It's obviously missing a layer and I don't think I've ever seen hanken with sequence numbers. :?

Occasionally hanken have sequence numbers like A1 or just a number, I believe. However, I have no idea if that's a hanken.

It looks like it's from an advertising commercial. I can picture Goku being a missing layer in the center holding some ad or product.

BTW, I love the expressions on Vegeta and Trunks face :P .

You might want to check with Mandarake on which product it was used for, and why there are seq nos. They have been quite helpful in the past.

It's also an End cel; I agree with majinuub - it looks more like a commercial cel than a standard hanken.

Doesn't "hanken" literally translate to "commercial"? That might explain the confusion in this case...

I think that a closer translation would be 'copyright'. /hmm Hanken monos are the first thing I think of when something is being sold as a hanken, but I suppose that any time an advertiser has to pay a studio for the rights to use a character image, each piece of resulting artwork is technically a hanken in its own right.
