Well, it looks like the auction contains original settei, which could explain the insanely high price. :) Perhaps if someone here wins the auction, they'll sell you a few sheets. :D

I have shipped packages as heavy as books and pottery from Japan with no problems at all with customs. Actually the only time I’ve ever had a problem with customs and mail was having something sent from the UK. And that was a matter of US customs misinterpreting an abbreviation on the package and wrongly thinking there was an animal product inside. So as long as a package is clearly labeled that’s rarely an issue.

Yeah, if it's coming to the US there should be no problems. I've had 3 inches worth of Tonde Buurin cels and gengas slip through customs with no particular attention paid.

On the other hand, I didn't pay anywhere near $1000 for them.

If the declared value is over $2000 I think they might call you and ask for information for tax purposes.

Ask for a low value, usually they do it!

Wah...that's high.

I suppose it could be easier for someone in Japan to bid higher because they might know what else is in that set. Or at least that's what I tell myself when I lose. :D
