BWA Fall 2011
So...what did people win?
(and I'd love to know if a Beta member won this: https://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/ite ... 0260100004)

I know who had the second highest bid (it wasn't me), so we'd like to know that as well.ReiTheJelly wrote:(and I'd love to know if a Beta member won this: https://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/ite ... 0260100004)
I didn't participate in the BWA.

Re: BWA Fall 2011
Wasn't me: I did not participate either, being a bit strapped for funds (a crew working on the water main clipped the power line, causing a power surge that meant both computers in our house had to be replaced).
But that Windy pan was, indeed the one that tempted me most. A wonderful hybrid of goddess, woman, and dragonfly.

Re: BWA Fall 2011
It is a beautiful cel. But the ending price being $694 (including commission) + shipping was a bit beyond me. This now makes it the second most expensive Clow Card cel I've seen auctioned in the last 8 years.sensei wrote:But that Windy pan was, indeed the one that tempted me most. I do hope she shows up in a public gallery, though. Such a gorgeous cel...

This time, i only managed to get this nice Syaoran and Meiling cel.
I tried for the Tomoyo/The Song and The Windy cel auctions as well, but was outbid on both of them.

*raises her hand timidly*
I did not realize so many people were interested in that Windy cel.
(Seems I always have to confess my BWA sins... I mean wins )

Congrats It's gorgeous and I would have bid if I didn't (correctly) think it was going to have a ton of competition. Glad someone with a gallery beat out the rest XD

Re: BWA Fall 2011
Great to see this beauty show up close to home and in a great gallery! And it looks to be in brilliant condition, too (unlike the high-priced OPs, all of which looked to have visible line fading in the face and hairlines).
To the underbidders: remember, unlike the local casino, when you lose, you get to go home with all your money still in your pocket.
Cold comfort when there are still good cels out there just within your grasp ... but still ...

Re: BWA Fall 2011
As for the Tomoyo/Song cel, I hope to have that cel up in the gallery some time soon when I can get the shipment from Mandarake, so it looks like at least a couple cels will continue in RS/Beta members collections. Sensei made an interesting comment regarding the line fading in the CCS OP sequences. It appears that a substantial amount of fading is occurring in the "white over black" xerographic lines. I have noticed that in some of the OP sequences that I have as well. It is curious however that line fading has not occurred in all of the 1st Season OP cels that I have. I suspect that at least a portion of the total sequence was not stored that well or used a different batch of cel paint. Of course these are now 10 year old cels...Macron one wrote:This time, i only managed to get this nice Syaoran and Meiling cel.

There is no such thing as too much cuteness
