Next BWA - Zenbu 55

Post by Promethium »

Mandarake has uploaded a preview of their next BWA already. Images are clickable. :^^:

Lots of original artwork and CCS/Laputa cels/douga/genga. (and lots of Oba-Q toys).

I know, right? You'd think the prices would come down after a while, but... :shrug

Am I the only one that thinks the zenbus have been pretty meh so far this year. Don't get me wrong there were 1 or 2 pieces that were nice but I've yet to see anything jaw dropping.

This one seems a bit better than the last editions, placing bets on two pieces that will require to be restored before to be exhibited.
Anyway, lack of quality in BWA is quite good for direct collectors' business :D

Sold for ~$1500 (incl. Mandy's commission): http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/item ... 0290100007

Most of the CCS pieces have ended really high, so far. A few of them, IMHO, ended much higher than their actual market value, but that's the BWA for ya!

I'm really surprised with how high this went -

Ok, Toriyama sketch...yeah, creator of Dragon Ball...but...$11,635 with commission?!

Please come to a convention near me and draw something, Toriyama-sensei. I'd love to have a sketch worth 10K.

Got my desired item, now time for restoration process with a professionnel in order to remove the "to my beloved xxx" note on the upper corner.
This Toriyama one has the same problem.

Does anyone know if Mandarake actually replies back to questions during these auctions?

I'd like to see some larger photos but I haven't heard back in days :/
