Stick a fork in me.

Post by duotrouble »

I'm done. I thought long and hard about this over the past several months. I kept thinking I'd stick with cel collecting. I love my cels. I love everyone else's cels too greedily wanting them in my gallery but other things in my life have made me change my focus.

SO VULTURES SWEEP IN!

I'm not hiding anything but I do plan on keeping some pieces and most likely keeping my gallery up. I find when I hide pieces I wind up hiding some that I would be willing to give up if the price was right. So feel free to offer on anything. You never know. :^^: I plan on having a lot of ebay listings soon but I thought I'd post here first. Please write me through my gallery feedback with links to what you're interested in.

PayPal only. Too many past experiences with "I mailed that check or money order already." I will ignore all requests for non-PayPal payments. It's free for the buyers so get over yourselves. I will ignore all "how much do you want for x" inquires. If you're into cel collecting, you know how to offer. If you can't offer, then wait for the ebay listing. Maybe you'll get lucky. I will accept payment plans. Those will be worked out on a case by case basis.

It's been a fun 10 years. Please remember that I will not be selling off my entire collection. I do plan on keeping some. However, I do want to clear out quite a few pieces. Thanks! :)

Awww... I'll be sorry to see you leave, duo :ghug:. But, I totally understand. I've had the same thoughts over the past year or so, myself, which is largely why the hubby and I are seriously cutting back our collection. Too many other priorities ... (like ohhh, work more on the house! *laughs*)

Good luck with your offers ... since you have no Heeros left ... I'm safe. ;) :rollin

Gaaah! No! Damn, you're one of the only people on RS who have a kajillion things I drool over, I thought I was safe from you ever tempting me! And my funds are at an all time low right now, I even cut myself off from checking YJ. Gaaaah.

*Epic battle of willpower commencing*

Don't sell! Hang on to them!!! Lol. I actually don't think I WOULD know what kind of offers to make anyway, your stuff I really really like I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. Ah, sigh. You're out of my league! Sigh.

You know you'll always be welcome to hang around here. ^_^

I did send you a PM. I didn't know if you wanted that or an e-mail message. Look forward to hearing from you!

Many Sharp Smiles,

First off, :ghug: Y'all rock! You really do! :yourock:

I can't believe the number of emails/pms I've received since posting this thread. I thought I was the only one who liked my gallery. WOW! :jaw

So that brings me to my second point, I'll answer everyone this weekend. I have an extremely busy day Friday at work so I won't have very much downtime there to answer questions. And I know I'll be exhausted afterwards and rarely turn on my computer at home on Fridays anyway. This weekend I'll pour through everything and get back to everyone. Feel free to harass me Monday if you didn't hear from me.

And another little reminder, I'm not selling everything. I'm just letting everything have a chance to be had. Some pieces, such as my Subaru, will be very hard to pry from my fingers. But other previously off limit items, like my Sailor Moon, are now free game.

Thanks again, everyone! /thx

Thanks again, everyone, for looking and for the nice compliments! :)

I've gotten back to some of you but I still have more replies to make. I thought I'd answer a couple of the common questions here. No, I'm not desperate for money so I won't be selling at major losses. I don't really want to take any losses (who does) but I am willing to sell some less than what I paid. The major reason I decided to quit is that I have a lot going on in my life over the next two years. (Yes, I'm planned that far out.) Sadly, nothing is free such as home repairs (eek). Raise your hand if you heard me complaining about getting my A/C repaired 3 times this summer. And I'm planning on moving so the house needs to be in tip top shape to sell. Oy!

Maybe I'll come back to collecting in a few years. A very sweet, quiet collector told me a touching story about their collecting history so I'm not saying goodbye. I'm just cleaning house of my "less loved" art. I will be keeping my RS gallery up. I will continue to stop by beta every now and again. I will do my best to get the remainder of my collection online by the end of this year. Scanner, here I come!

Don't worry if you haven't heard from me yet. I'm still weeding through all the emails. Thanks again!

Oh, and I changed my mind about hiding some. As I stated in my first post, I WILL be keeping some. I don't plan on selling everything. ALL Subarus are off limits. I worked very hard to get him and he is not cheap. I absolutely adore him. So if you really really can't live without him, I might be able to let him go if you pay off my mortgage. Yeah, I think that shows how much I adore him. :^^: I also hid the boshi twins and other cels that mean a lot to me. Everything hidden will take a mininum of 4 digits to get me to part with. Just saying!

Okay, I think I've responded to everyone. If I didn't, please feedback me through my gallery. It's so much easier for me to keep track of if the email hits my hotmail address. I lose track of pms very easily here at beta since I get many non-selling pms as well.

Thanks! :)

Alright, I think I'm all caught up again on emails. Thanks again to everyone for your responses! Congrats to all those who got some new goodies to show off in the future! Sorry to all of those I turned down. I hope to get some ebay auctions going soon. I'll of course list here at beta when I do.

I will also unprotect my cels this weekend but that doesn't mean those are available. They will still not be for sale but I want them visible again. For those of you who bought from me, I have/will hide your cels until you have them. Your direct links will still work for you if you want to see them. I'll delete them from my gallery when I know you have them as I don't believe in keeping cels on my site that are sold. Hey, it's against RS's policy anyway.

Last bump, I swear. :^^:

I've gotten back to almost everyone. I have just a couple more that I will get back to by the end of the weekend latest. I will be going to the post office this Monday to mail all those that have paid in full already. Thank you! :)

Officially, my offer period is now over. I'm overwhelmed by the responses. Thank you! Everyone was wonderful in their responses. You all reminded me once again what this community can feel like - polite. I will be having some ebay auctions soon but I'll post a thread here when I do.

Thanks again! 8)
