Well, basically I rolled a critical fumble on my genetic saving throw... or, for non-Dungeons and Dragons players, I have bad genes and a degenerative retinal condition. :) It's not supposed to cause anything other than a gradual loss of eyesight, but sometimes it gets evil and kicks into high gear, apparently. So the pressure in my right eye skyrocketed, my retinal specialist injected that eye with steroids, the steroids caused all kinds of other nasty effects, and I spent the next four months in and out of the operating room for... let's see... four or five laser procedures and four scalpel-type surgeries.

And that's the sanitized version. :evilblk You don't want to hear about the part where they sucked all the jelly out of my eye and replaced it with saline.

Anyway, the practical upshot is that my right eye is now nigh-useless, my left eye has roughly the same field of vision as looking through a toilet paper tube, and I trip over stuff. Do I care, really? No, not really. I tripped over stuff anyway... I'm a freakin' klutz. :D :hurt:  I've been using a white cane to get around for the past couple of years, so that's nothing new, and of course I write for a living, so the whole legally-blind thing isn't going to hurt my career. All in all, it's more annoying than angst-worthy, heh.

I will admit, though, that I dread the possibility of no longer being able to read subtitles. Aaaaaiiiieeeeeeee, no dubs, no dubs!

Gwahh! Cindy! Save some Mishima for me! Please!

I don't know what to say about losing your vision.

I couldn't donate you my eyes. If only I could clone my eyes I would.

I hope your eyes get better. I will definitely pray that they do!

p.s. I almost forgot about your sense of humour. It's top notch as usual! We really missed you!

*more glomps for more folks* Sounds like the gang's all here! :friends:

Well, it looks as though my "free time" this week is merely an illusion, heh. Many apologies for the lack of additional scans! I'll get the remainder of the series posted this weekend -- since my hubby is at a kendo seminar on Saturday, I'll have several hours of contiguous time to spend on the project.

Meanwhile, to answer another common question, yes, if there's a cel or sketch that you remember from my old site, you're more than welcome to inquire about it! With, of course, the caveat that I may no longer have it, or it may have been a prezzie, so there are no guarantees. Best way to find out what's still in my binders and up for adoption is to wait for the weekend. Gomen, gomen! If I'd realized that I wasn't going to be able to get to it this week, I'd have delayed the whole announcement until the weekend.

Bad Cindy, no biscuit! :wack

Never know.... he could have ran away to another gallery with more Jim and Genes to cuddle with.... or he could have been frightened by maybe having to cuddle with Suzuka, Aisha or Hitoriga! 8O *mental note to lock fred up so he can't run away*

Well, hey, would you look at that. :) RalphVBoy has reminded me that a while back, I posted an insanely long, slow-as-heck-loading page with about 95% of my Hunter x Hunter cels on it. I'd forgotten that page existed, heh!

It's not labeled with what's staying, but for anyone who wanted a preview, here it is... I'll definitely be keeping less than 10% of these.

http://www.evilminion.com/gallery/hxh-all.html

This weekend, I'll put up individual pages for the different story arcs, complete with the handy little icons for cels that will stay, plus a bunch of new scans.

Again, I'm so sorry for the delay!

Oh, there's always riceballs. :D

It's one of the ones I'm agonizing over whether to sell, though. I'm leaning towards keeping it, just because it's so genuinely odd compared to all my other cels. And cute. Odd and cute.

Hey, that's just like my hubby.
