Samurai fancel (from unknown manga) ~sold~

The following fancel was painted by yours truly, and features a bishy samurai from an unknown manga series. Yeah, I dunno who he is, but I saw this image in an ad and thought it looked pretty cool! So I just painted it at random.

Standard cel size (12.25"h x 10.5"w) and painted with acrylics. I did use colored ink to paint his katana, the lighter shade of which is actually metallic white - so it's shiny in person! Obviously if you look at the change in color in the feathers, it is meant to have no background; in other words, scanned against plain white. So no, there is no BG included.

The shadow down the left side is from the scanner, and you cannot tell, but the katana does have a midnight blue grip with black wrapping (with grey highlights). Sorry you can't see that...

Fancel GORGEOUSNESS (as always). You already know I'm a huge, huge fan of your work, and this piece is no exception. I love it! (especially the feathers - beautiful!)

Good luck in finding a new home for him. I'm very, very tempted ... but I must force myself to be good. (plus, I've been storing up images for you -- *ebil laugh*) Yeah, I know ... you wanna run off and hide from me now, don't you?

I have FINALLY gotten around to getting my lovely "keeper original" scanned and ready to go.

I used one of my favorite backgrounds, and I think the result is fabulous. (How could it be otherwise with such a beautiful piece of art though?) Since keeper hasn't even seen the end result, I thought I'd just share it here! Thanks again and again, Heather... I absolutely LOVE my Dominic! Whomever it was that bought your "unknown swordsman" will not be disappointed!!

(edit: I didn't notice until I looked back at my own post here how cool it is that you can see how close the original screencap is compared to Heather's work. My sig box is a closeup of the eyes from the original she worked from. Amazing work!!)

The end result is simply gorgeous! Your background is the perfect compliment to her skill and talent.

I was wondering about your signature, thanks so much for explaining. It's incredible to compare the screen cap to her finished piece.
