Well, long story short... I just got back from the vet, and my Bebop has liver failure. They are keeping him for a day or two and pumping him full of IV's and some antibiotics for his white cell count being wonky as well. Good news in that he was really interested in the special wet cat food they offered him, so hopefully he will be eating, and his liver issue will clear up. Then we can figure out what caused him to not want eat in the first place.

Bad news is the financial situation for this... I have had my own ongoing health issues that I have been dealing with since March. With my medical bills continuing to pile up, the money just isn't there. If it weren't for me, the money for Bebop wouldn't be an issue.

As it stands, I need money to fund his medical expenses.

Hello. Thank you everyone for you well wishes for Bebop. When I get some news on his condition, I will post an update.

As for me I am a mental basket case... It's 4 AM, and I need to be up in 4 hrs for a doctors apt for myself, but I can't sleep. May sound dumb to some, I'm sure... but Bebop is more than a pet or my "kid".... he is my friend. He's been there at my best, and at my worst. Not caring one way or another if there's a surplus of money saved up, or if I'm looking at a dollar and some change at the end of the month... wether I'm looking good or not. None of it matters, what matters is he's with me. which is more than I can say about some of the real people I have in my life. So yeah... I'm worried.

I do believe I have responded to all PM's and emals. If anyone is unsure of what to offer, just send an email my way. I will usually respond with telling you what I paid, and we can work from there. I do need ot head over to my gallery and hide a few pieces that were gifts to my from my family. I totally forgot to do that before posting originally.

Kira - I'm sorry my site isn't coming up for you, it is working for me. Both the link in the 1st post as well as the link in my profile. =|

Captain Haddock - my heath issues are still ongoing. the doctors are trying to figure out what the problem is, and thus how to cure it. basically I have siring pain that goes down my shoulder blade, then sends a numbing sensation going down my arm to my elbow. I have been to a chiropractor, family doctor, nerve specialist, physical therapy, and now an orthopedic specialist. The tests so far have all come back normal. I get pain so bad I cannot lift anything, which greatly hinders my ability to do my job. *le sigh*

For now I'm going to go and try and sleep again... maybe get at least a few hours of sleep before my doc apt. =(

I really hope both your cat and you end up okay. I totally understand how important a pet can be.

Have you tried acupunture? It ovbiously wouldn't give you a diagnosis, but it might make your pain more manaageable in the meantime.

I hope that your friend is improving. It's encouraging that the liver problem is reversable, and that Bebop is eating. That's always a sign that his vital spirit hasn't been touched. We still miss the moral support our Oliver gave us, along with a certain amount of trouble.

The symptoms you describe sound a lot like the sciatica I had about ten years ago. Happily, it resolved without treatment. Basically, part of the nerve sheath coming out of the spinal cord was inflamed (in this case right at the base of the buttocks) and I'd get the same fierce pain that would go down to my toes and make my foot numb.

You might benefit from some kind of steroid if it doesn't resolve naturally. Or pay attention to things you do that might put your neck or shoulders at an awkward angle for hours (like browsing auctions). Maybe you should change the chair you sit in for long times. (I've been very picky about my computer desk chair, the current one being a metal chair with tough but supportive cushions that was left out for the trash at my university.) Maybe, too, one of those neck pillows that help you hold your head straight and chin up while you work.

It does sound like a stressed nerve, and anything that would stabilize the part of the upper spine where it is would probably help, if not cure it.

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all your advice and will wishes for both Bebop and myself.

An update on myself... My visit to the orthopedic specialist, didn't uncover anything new. Just trying Massage Therapy now, whenever I find a place around here that does it... and a new prescription.

As for Bebop, things aren't going well at all. I did get to bring him home on Friday, but he isn't eating, and I now have to keep to a strict schedule of force feeding him every 2 hours. I'm not sleeping much, but if it will help him, I'm all for it. Bebop's well-being is much more important to me any any amount of sleep I could get. I also have to keep him confined so I know that ONLY he is eating his food, and it's soooo painful to hear his cry's I know he just wants out to lay by me, but the vet said not to. It's heart-wrenching, but at least he has the energy to complain. =\ He also isn't drinking, so I've liquefied his food... so he is getting some water as well as the food. Hopefully by tomorrow he will at least drink on his own... if not than, I think I will be taking him to the after hours clinic. *sighs*

As for my offers... TBH, I have been so pre-occupied with Bebop, that I don't remember who I have responded to and who I haven't responded to. So if I haven't responded to you yet... I am SOOOOO sorry. Please send another PM, email, or RS feedback my way.

Sorry for the double post... Just updating that I had to take Bebop to the after hours clinic after he started vomiting. They are keeping him for overnight, then I have to take him to my regular vets office in the morning.

Please send Bebop some prayers, good vibes, mojo, juju... whatever. He needs all the help he can get.

As for my offers period, I will create a list, and add prices of what I bought items for after I get a short nap in... I haven't really slept since I got up Friday morning.
