Just asking. That particular COA could indeed have been from the studio or from Mandarake, for example.
I don't think your homemade COA offers any kind of warranty. Stop hiding behind the agreement you signed with an art insurance company who knows nothing about cels, and give us specific facts that prove you can make the difference between a real cel and a fake cel.
For example, to make this COA of the Dragon Ball cel:
- Did you get some original materials from Toei animation, such as blank cels and paints, to compare them with your cel? If yes, which technique did you use to prove they are the same?
- Have you established a contact with any japanese animator who worked on Dragon Ball, to ask for his/her opinion?
- More generally, have you done anything else than comparing the cel to its DVD frame to authentify the cel?
And also:
- Since when have you been working with/collecting cels?
- What kind of personal experience do you have about japanese animation (have you ever worked in the anime industry) that allows you to claim you are an expert?
COAs are a big deal. It is only fair that people ask questions and get answers before they trust you.
Thanks in advance for answering these questions.
