Ok, so this really isn't anime-related (unless you consider that you could always install the Crunchyroll app and stream anime wirelessly from any hotspot), but in a strange fit of randomness I'm posting it here.
Would anyone here be interested in a modified android tablet? It's a Viewsonic g-tablet that was a native android 2.2 device, but is now running a nearly fully-functioning version of android 3.0 (honeycomb).
Specs/info:
- nvidia tegra 2 chipset (dual-core 1GHz processor -- basically, this is the same processor that's in the Xoom from Motorola)
- 512MB ram
- 16GB internal memory (expandable via microSD)
- mini-HDMI port
- full USB port (yes, you can use thumb drives! woot!)
- dock with full HDMI out (hook it up to your TV and play angry birds on a big screen! LOL!) -- this was NOT included in the original package, I got this separately
- fully skinned in a carbon fiber skin with a cleanly applied screen protector
- for the technically-inclined or android geeks: it has the viewsonic 1.2 bootloader & a comparable version of clockworkmod installed (hellloooo nandroid backups!)
The tablet is fully wiped, running the latest version (7.1) of Flashback honeycomb (kept up/supported by its dev on SlateDroid & XDA-Developers) -- newest version is 7.1 and includes flash support for apps and web browsing in Opera (Flash on non-native 3.0 devices is very problematic in the browsers -- devs are working on this). Pre-rooted, so you can install/use Titanium backup, Root Explorer or any other apps that require root. I can install any 1.2 bootloader compatible ROM if you'd prefer it, though I very much like this version of honeycomb. Only thing that does not function in the installed ROM is the camera (which is not the best anyways). Simply installing a ROM that supports the camera will bring the functionality back.
I don't use this tablet anymore and had been keeping it for fun, but I heavily rely on my Asus Transformer now and just have no reason to keep it any longer. The g-tablet is an excellent unit for the price. It offers up a lot of the features you'll find in newer android 3.0 tablets, but for a LOT less $$. The screen is its biggest drawback, having a limited viewing angle, but this can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. You can learn a lot about using a modified gtab on either SlateDroid or XDA (IMO, for the g-tablet, the SlateDroid forums are much friendlier for newbies).
For any Beta folk interested, I'll offer it up, dock included, for $275 shipped (you'll pay this for a stock, new unit with none of the extras and the stock ROM, which IMHO, sucks something awful). It includes all original packaging, accessories, etc. Basically everything is in like-new condition + more (and bonus -- you get it pre-modded, so you won't have to deal with figuring that part out yourself!)
Contact me via PM or e-mail if interested. I know this is a shot in the dark, but like I said earlier -- fit of randomness made me post it here. This offer is good for the next 24 hours, after that time I'll be listing it on eBay.
