I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. I have gone through more than one of these experiences myself, and with young pets such as yours.
I hope that your other dog will be ok. Kisara made some excellent points. I know that my smaller dogs are very prone to digestional upsets. I have used Nutrical to stimulate the appetite of sick dogs and cats. It will also give him nutrients. Perhaps you can try giving him that before mealtime. I agree it might be best to feed him in the usual spot, too. Good luck! Keep us informed!

Hey, guys
Sorry that I've been away for a while, but it's been busy with the holidays (which we are still planning to celebrate, although perhaps more muted than normal) and what not.
First off: SME, Uende, Ashura, LinaLoN and Ronin: I am so terribly sorry to hear of your losses, too!!!! I should have said that eariler, I ment to, actually, but I guess I've been a bit self-absorbed lately. I'm sure you understand. I did feel terribly, terribly guilty, but I am feeling a bit better about it now. I'd still give anything to get her back, though.
The good news is that Chilli is finally eating!! The turning point was I found a bag of turkey jerky (both dogs have beef allergies, and Chilli is worse than Siska was) and broke some up and put it in his food. That got him going. He's been doing pretty well since, although he sort of snubbed the shrimp cake (leftover) that I gave him, so I took 2 small shrimps out and ate them in front of him!! LOL! He didn't seem so keen on that idea, so he started to eat. Yesterday and today, it was rabbit livers, which I cooked in chicken broth, with (frozen) turnip, mixed beans, asparagus, and a tomato. That went over very, very well! I've also bought some chicken livers and some ground turkey to make as well, so I'll cook them and then freeze them for later.
I think I'm doing better as well, since I found myself laughing this morning. I had Chilli out, and he was wearing this red, fleece lined coat that has been worn by both my first Cairn, Kiska, and by Siska (although it was washed at the end of the winter last year) and it's a bit big for Chilli, since he's not as stocky as the other two were. Well, he went to roll around in the skiffer of snow and he got onto his back, and I'm not sure if the coat was too big to let him roll back over or if it stuck to the frozen grass, but I suddenly saw him look at me rather helplessly. He was stuck like that, on his back with his feet up in the air! I had to give him a push, and said to him, "I'm starting to understand why you don't like that coat very much!" LOL!
I've also been to 3 Krav classes this week, two of them total killers and even though my arms are now killing me, I think the running around has helped quite a bit, too. I think my punches are a lot better for the practice, though!
I do know that I can't mention Siska's name, because the one time I was talking to Chilli while giving him a cookie, and I said something like "You're not used to having to clean up the crumbs because Sissy usually does it," and he stopped eating as soon as he heard her name and walked away. This was right in the middle of eating the cookie. So, I'm trying not to mention her name, so when my mother and I talk we talk about "the other one" to try and not upset him. I'm sure we'll slip sooner or later, but I'm hoping that by then it won't effect him so badly.
So, that's all the news, everyone. Thank you again for all your support and advice. I desperately needed it and I'm very, very grateful. Thanks again, and massive huggs to all of you!
Oh, and we've been playing around with names for our new fluffball, whenever she gets here, and the one my mother's leaning towards is one I suggested as a joke:
Carne. As in "Chilli con carne". Get it? I thought it was funny, "Oh, what a cute little dog! What's her name?"
"MEAT!"

How about that. How did he get to roll around in the skiffer of snow and he got onto his back and he or she is not sure if the coat was too big to let him roll back over or if it stuck to the frozen grass but he or she suddenly saw him look at him or her rather helplessly?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
