Long saga.
You may remember the trip my Best Friend and Natural Enemy took to Japan last year, wherein he did NOT bring home rocks or inflatable Kenshins or anything really kewl.
He did, however, manage to score some thoroughly beautiful signed posters of Robot (Range Murata) in a fierce battle of rock-paper-scissors, the japanese equivalent of which I will surely misspell if I try it.
He presented (literally) one of these to the Spouzal Unit as a birthday gift last fall, when he was here for Nan Desu Kan.
So!! Finally, Nate got around to getting it framed. We went in to Michael's a few weeks ago because they've been having an exceptional sale on custom framing. Turns out that the guy behind the counter is a member of what used to be the Greeley Anime Club, of which I was the faculty advisor for a couple of years (so that they could get a space on campus). So he knew Range Murata. Nearly peed his pants when he saw the poster.
He was there again tonight when Nate went to pick up the finished product and kept saying "boy it was a temptation to make off with this"

So here's the Spouzal Unit in an uncomfortable pose holding the poster up at an odd angle. He hasn't decided on its final location.

What this doesn't show very well is that the inside matte is a subtle gold color that picks up the signature pen perfectly. And the frame was of course chosen to compliment the metallic surface she's resting on and the zipper

But this picture Nate took later does a better job. Still doesn't really catch the gold, but this is a dark corner:

So thanks from both of us to Kymaera, who has successfully created yet another anime freak.
(I think Nate may have watched more series than I have, now...
