Being Scarce

Just a note to let people know that I will be very scarce for the next several weeks, perhaps months, due to a lot of work and other distractions. Nothing is wrong, but I've had to set some priorities, and cel-collecting and noshing with other collectors has, sadly, had to go several notches back in my life.

As I have time, I'm continuing to get additions from the last SMJ delivery uploaded (most recently, a funny batch of the Powerpuff GirlZ going disco), and there will be one more batch of pre-Lent acquisitions that will go up when they arrive. But after that there may be a long hiatus as I reorganize my life. I'm not quitting (Sensei shoos a bunch of usual suspects away from the windows) but I'm certainly not going to have a year of expansion like the last three, and I'm more apt to go after quality rather than quantity when I return.

And with regret I'm not going to be lurking here often or checking RS as often to see my friends' treasures go up. My apologies. As a modest compensation, I've put up in the RS Gallery the long-awaited photo of me in my apnea mask (small version in the avatar). It does really work.

Meanwhile: salutes to my friends and my rivals, and a happy spring to all.

Once you've been assimilated to the Anime Beta community you can never leave the Anime Borg Colony... Deserters will be eliminated.

Just take off the mask and you won't be able to sleep and you can scan in more powerpuff.

Thanks, all. I'm not leaving, I just won't be around nearly as much. Hopefully I'll get the last of my Mardi Gras snags in time to announce a 35K celebration (I'm about 700 hits shy of this mark right now). I hear you, RF, but it doesn't work that way. Without the mask I can sleep fine, but it's the kind that lacks the deep alpha phase that the brain needs to recover. So when I get up, I never fully wake up, and so neither scanning nor anything else gets done, at least not without a clumsiness and mental fog that I'd come to take as part of what life deals out. Actually, the PPGZ got scanned a lot more quickly with the help of a deep night's sleep. Unfortunately, being alert also makes you quickly aware of all the other things that need to get done in the short and long run ... hence my decision.

But I'll be back, mask and all.
