Just thought I'd share. There are some other cool photos of a lot of artists and comic industry people who are long gone, and a few early 80's cosplayers here and there.
Boy...that was a long time ago. I didn't know what Robotech or conventions were and I only collected US coins, US stamps and new comic books at the time. That was a couple years before I even started collecting silver age comic books.
I was completely clueless as to anything regarding hand produced collectibles and artwork back then.

I assume at comic book/science-fiction conventions and through the mail (with descriptions and occasional photographs)?
I know there were cel dealers mostly selling american stuff at that time. I'm sure some Anime stuff was there but I was not interested then in cels.
I do know when the 1st Akira manga's were reprinted here they were giving away cels from it with each purchase.
