Scary news, and hopeful thoughts.
Today it was confirmed. I have gestational diabetes.
That's why Suzi's so big. She has macrosomia.
My blood pressure is good, and her gross motor skills are great, but she's still not behaving the way the doctors like, and there's worry that the width of her shoulders exceeds my pelvic opening. There's also a great worry for *shudder* stillbirth.
So tomorrow morning, I go in for another NST, ultrasound and *gulp* amniocentesis (big scary needle that they take some amniotic fluid out with.)
Depending on the readings I may be admitted for a cesarean section right away.
So I'm scared, naturally. Plus it means more time in the hospital, which means more time Cam has to be off work with the kids. Lots of blood sugar monotoring for me and baby. And a special diet that we can't even begin to afford.
I'm all jittery and scared. I admit it. That said, I probably won't be around much tomorrow. If you need me for any reason, just email me at zagadgita[at]gmail.com and I'll get back to you when I can.
