Short story (read my rubberslug blog for long version).
I found out about captioning service at work, and now can understand what's going on in meetings and interviews thanks to a person with a court stenography set typing in what everyone is saying (I should so learn sign language).
I'm transferring at work... I'm going to be a developer, and moved out of test -- first day is the 25th - I'm very excited about it and happy. I'm going to be working on games, and it should be a lot of fun. Ironically, the team I move to is more or less a remake from the team I moved from that was disbanded... it's like I'm back where I'm started, in a very similar role... but now with the title change, it will be much more difficult for management to change my role that way again

I'm giving a lecture on game debugging at a game development conference in San Francisco in a week and a half. I've been working on it for months... I'm both excited and nervous. I'm also going to be info gathering for my old team and recruiting for my new team the week I'm there, which should be interesting. I'm going to attend the Video Games Live concert there as well. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Play! A Video Game Symphony I went to last month. At least I still have some of my hearing left at the moment, got to make the most of it ^_^
My boyfriend and I broke up... but really, I'm ok with it. In a sense, it's like a huge burden has been lifted off of me. I moved out of the house we lived in together... and right back into the apartment I lived in before the point. The exact same apartment... just happened to be vacant, waiting for me. It felt like home the moment I walked in the door. It's good to be back.
So all in all, things are looking up... and I'm back to where I was a couple of years ago, which leaves me much happier I've been in the mean time. I will hopefully have time in mid-March to update my gallery... I'm kind of booked until then -- my parents are coming to visit right after I get back from the week long CA trip, so it's still going to be busy for awhile.
I'll catch up soon, I promise ^^;
