So, I'm hardly new to cel collecting...I grew up with framed Disney cels in my room and my brother's room, and I bought my first cel in either 1999 or 2000. I tended to buy generally around convention time (AX, primarily) and would chat with Ed from AnimeEd for hours for fun at said cons. I bought a few a year (generally under $50, although I made an exception here and there) until about 2006, when I got into BJDs, which are (often) far more expensive, unless you only collect the highest end cels. xD I've stopped buying BJDs, however, and plan to sell a good amount of them off. I had only bought 1 cel in about 2.5 years when Kuroitsubasa4 got me thinking about them again, and I've picked up a few more in the last few months and am thinking about a few more before I leave Japan in a few weeks. :)

All this time, 'til kuroi mentioned it, I had no clue this community existed. Figures. :P

I forgot to scan some cels that I purchased in the mid-2000s, but this is the majority of them. :) My most expensive cel so far is a Captain Harlock cel I spent $150 on, and I never got around to scanning it. Yeah, I know.

These days, I am focusing on Cyber Formula, along with casual browsing of Gourry cels and Kero-chan cels. Also need to eventually get a Yang cel from LOGH. Lucky for me, Cyber Formula doesn't have much of a fandom outside Asia. Yay for shopping, at least. :P

I am sure you will fit in just fine. This is a nice time to get back into collecting as you will be able to pick up some beautiful cels for a steal now !

Heh. My very first cel had Kero-chan in it, which is why I wanted it so much. Welcome, have fun, and thanks for the chance to get nearly all my bananas out of my banana closet.

PS, BJDs are eeeeeeeevil. Can't tell you how many good anime art collectors have gone to perdition because they listened to their whispers too long.

That is truly a lot of smilies and bananas. :D Thanks for the welcome! And yes, BJDs are money sucking pits, as are cels. I need to stick with one expensive hobby, instead of flopping back and forth between two, I think. :P

Glad to see you got your invite :) Now we can chit chat on AB together, too ;) Also: BUAHAHHAHAHA @ you stating that I got you back into collecting. I tried not to collect for a long time, but now that I'm living in Japan, it seemed too good an opportunity to pass up. We'll see if I can ever stop... I almost got dragged into BJD, but then I bought a cel and swerved that way instead...

I think it was a combination of you getting so gungho into collecting, along with me rewatching Cyber Formula again, and the fact that I was/am leaving soon from Japan, and I switched into HO CRAP MUST BUY EVERYTHING mode. xD
