What you said was either too simple for me.

*nods* I see this is a very good place to be, so I wont have to hide myself
I usually dont but after the other forum, I kinda was put off from joining a new group.

How did you all get started collecting and anime in general?
I really didnt really like anime at one point, I thought it was to childish...but a family member came over and showed me sailromoon on cable, and then while looking for the VHS (OMG that sounds so far off LOL) I ran into a few series that I loved. Astro boy, last unicorn and tenchi muyo ect. and well, the rest is history.

My friends TRY to watch anime and they end up saying "Why is he killing them?" "His hair is too long" or the famous " When are you going to stop watching this?" Their kids usually love coming over to go through my anime stash and I usually end up throwing their parents out LOL.

I got my first cel a year ago from inuyasha.
I personally didnt like the storyline and I used to find myself skipping to the episodes with sesshoumaru. lol

I never thought it would be this expensive but its really worth it when you get them in your hands. I enjoy looking at them and remembering the scenes and what happened to the character/s :)

What are you studying in NY? How many siblings do you have?

I didn't pay any attention to anime until I was working 7pm-7am shifts and one of my coworkers turned Adult Swim on. I laughed a little for him putting cartoons on, and then I told him it was cool cause I like cartoons. Luckily for me, he and one other coworker actually took the time to explain the story lines to me so I wasn't so confused coming into the middle of a show. That caught my interest and the rest is history! (It also helped that they made me take their anime dvds home with me, and bugged me until I finished watching them.)

Collecting production art wasn't supposed to become such a big thing to me. I just bought a couple Noir cels at a con because I couldn't find anything else to buy (since discovering www.rightstuf.com i no longer search dealer rooms for dvd deals). Then my friend Buma found my kryptonite, Fruits Basket sketches (oh, I love everything Fruits Basket). I am hooked!

Hmmm.... *sneaks in*
Nope. I'm not 69. I lie.
I feel shame.
For two minutes, and then I am back in the game! :P

I'm actually currently 38, going on 12. And I did actually join with my real age. <.< It just.... changed... over time.... *ahem* Yeah, that's it.... :dlook

Welcome to the bankbreaking hobby!
Once I get a job again, I'll be back in it as soon as possible.
Or at least until the Ichigos run out. (on me, screaming!) *snicker*

Oh, and don't mind me. I've got a strange fixation on Ichigo Kurosaki of Bleach. Have had for almost two years now! 8O I don't think it's going to go away any time soon. :? My husband is pretty much used to it now.
Although, I do believe he's jealous of the Ichigo doll. :P

Um... I got started in cel collecting by accident. I was cruising ebay for anything "Tamahome" about three years ago, and found a cel. Bought said cel, and got hooked.
It was all downhill from there. :hurt:

Anyway! Congrats if you read all this! (you poor thing) And welcome to ru... um, Beta!

Welcome to Beta! I myself love lots of anime and I watch all types. The collection I share with my daughter reflects that. :D

I look forward to seeing your collection. If you don't have a place to host it or time to start from scratch designing it, you might want to try Rubberslug:

Always loved animation of all types since I was a kid. Only been collecting cels for a couple years now.

And 44 isn't old, silly. :)

anime's to show your friends!

1. Read or Die
2. Evangelion
3. Rozen Maiden

Most of these look childish. But it has quite alot of meaning behind them! Which is pretty neat!
