Thanks for the warm welcomes /thx :yourock:

I have a HP scanner but every time I scan a cel the scan is discolored like the cel was completely faded I don't know what I am doing wrong. :shrug

So I have been using my digital camera but am having no luck with that either. :l I have to take hundreds of pictures before I can get a decent shot it's a nightmare.

I have been Dying to get my gallery started I was able get a few nice pictures though. So I guess maybe I should get started and do a little at a time.

I also have a pitbull /lv

That's cool. Perhaps. Tell me why you should.

It's okay, start off with the pics you have ^-^

At first I had a very bad scanner that loved to mess up my images, but then I got another one and they look so prettY!!!!

My advice- Go to the sale after Thanksgiving and buy a scaner :)

Hi and welcome to the community :) I hope you have a pleasant stay here.

I feel your pain. What kind of digital camera are you using? If at all possible, try to rig something up so that you can use it as a tripod of sorts and shoot your cels from overhead. You'll want to have 2-3 lights in place

Quick mouse drawing:

*please note light 03 is not aimed for camera but it is instead facing (almost) dead ahead so that there are no shadows on the bottom of the cel.

Also, don't forget that so many lights create heat, and that isn't good for cels, so you'll have to do it quickly. I suggest that you take something that is roughtly the size of your cel, focus on that, and keep your camera on manual focus so that it is ready. Don't forget to make sure there are not any reflections on your cel.

I agree with everyone else, make sure you get a scanner that'll work with your system. Shouldn't be too difficult unless your on a 64 bit os.

I highly recommend Canon's latest lines of scanners with CCD imaging chips for excellent color accuracy :) (I use the Canon 8400F myself). Also, a copy of Photoshop or another image editing program (a good free one is GIMP) that will let you adjust color balance and contrast will help you clear up those muddy scans ^_~

Malt wine? Hey, nobody told me about that yet! 8O

About your scanner though, forgive me if this is too obvious, but try checking the settings of your scanning software; usually there are settings for color picture, color document, b&w document, photograph, etc., and these can make a huge difference in how your scan looks. It pays to experiment. A lot cheaper than buying a new scanner, too!

You mean on rubberslug? Did you check your spam filter? It's been so long that I can't remember what happens when you register, but I think it was instantaneous for me. :D
