Yes, Liana, I chose him to do my tattoos after seeing his work on TattooArtists.org; his style is unique as he adapts the traditional Japanese appearance and makes it his own 'Neo-Japanese' style. My first tattoo was in the planning stage for 10 years as I didn't want to rush into it before finding the 'perfect artist'. He's well versed in other styles too- his realistic drawings and colourful paintings are amazing so it's nice to have a combination of these techniques on my skin!

NSP, the aftercare routine I follow is pretty strict. I've not had any problems with the healing process yet- not a single scab. For the first couple of days I apply a nappy rash cream called 'Bepanthen' 6 times a day, (the brand may be called something else in the USA).

After that I just monitor how my skin's doing and use 4-5 applications over a 2 week period. It's important to never let the skin dry as that can cause scabbing and thus exend the overall healing process.

Where I had some block filling, that part on my arm ached for over 2 weeks, I guess it was the contant pumelling of the needles over a concentrated area. But it's fine now ^__^

Hey there! It's been a while since I've visited the forum, purchasing anime art hasn't been my top priority over the last 6+ months as the tattoo sleeve has been progressing.
I know that some folks are interested to see how it's coming on and it does retain the 'Japanese art' theme of this community so everyone could appreciate it ;)

It's now 95% complete and healed. The last session of 13 hours over 2 consecutive days got a lot done- the chrysanthemum on the inside of my bicep plus the Koi's body/scales.
So far this sleeve has taken precisely 40 hours, but it's worth it because I'm excited and proud at how it's turned out.

The final 2-hour session [at the end of August] will be for final touches- colour highlights, giving the creatures life by creating the eyes and making sure every part is perfect.

That's amazing! How brave of you!

I've been debating getting a small one done - debating with myself for about 4 years now! But I don't want my grandkids to say, "what's the funny saggy thing on your arm, grandma?" Of course, I don't have any grandkids, and I'm already old, so....

Insane (in the good way)! I had to look back at the older photos to see how much it's progressed. The chrysanthemum is a beauty. Can't wait to see the final product!
