Between my Japanese mother (thin and 5 foot 1 inch) and Irish father (overweight and 6 feet) our family will stand out in almost any crowd. All three of us "kids" look like neither and often get mistaken for completely different ethnicities.
Right now I look very white since work has been keeping me indoors. Give me a few days and I tan very dark in a very short period of time. In college when I used to work outdoors all summer I was often mistaken for American Indian or Latina.
