Italy

Post by Betty »

I'm reading some topics in the forum and I also red the Kittens topic about Germany.
She is right, in Europe there isn't an internet point everywere. 8O

But there are a lot of place to visit.
Did you ever visit Italy?

There are a lots (too much for only an holiday) places to visit.
I red that Americans like very much Italy.
The Americans with money buy houses in Toscana.

I live 70 km ( 25 miles? ) from Venice. There are a lot of tourism too.
A lot of japanes people, german people and american people.
Many times in Venice it's hard to listen italian language! :emb

Is anybody going to visit Venice?

I went to Italy some years ago and fell in love sooooo badly with Florence and Venice, they're such wonderful places and I keep telling me I have to go back... well that was the wish I made to the Fontana di Trevi in Rome ;) so let's see if it works.

You are so lucky to live in that wonderful country!

I hope to get to Milano Italy and then on to Venezia, someday in the next five years.

I agree with bulma_gt,

I love Italy, but I'm afraid it has been years since I have been there. I went to Firenze twice and to Venezia once and I stayed with someone somewhere in Treviso. Northern Italy is beautiful!

I heard that Maryland was starting to look like Venice. How's the water near you?

Betty! What a beautiful city you live in!!! Thanks for sharing that wonderful web site. I would love to visit Italy (and Germany, and Belgium, and Austria, and ... oh, you get the idea! ;)) but until my kids (AND my pile-o-money!) get a little bigger, I'm stuck state-side. :)

I've been to Italy twice, once on a university trip to Roma, where we stayed in a little hotel near the Vatican. We went on package tours to Firenze and Pompeii (which I enjoyed immensely), but the best part was having time free so we could walk around the City. Visiting the Pantheon and its surrounding was a high point.

Then a few years ago I went to a conference in Bellagio, on Lake Como. That was incredibly beautiful, especially the view of the Alps across the lake, but because it was a very intense meeting, unfortunately I didn't get to tour the area. I would love to return someday on my own time and get to see some of the things I just was able to taste. But a taste of Italy, I suppose, is better than none at all.

I think there might be a few exception.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Wah, I just got back from Italy two weeks ago. I LOVED it! It was my first time back since I was a baby (I was born in Naples :) ). I spent a couple days in Rome, and then the rest of the time around Tuscany. I need to go back to explore the rest of the country. Plus I wouldn't mind swinging by Florence again for more shopping. :P
