This might be considered a game. I'd like everyone to tell the board 10 things about themselves.

Things that maybe: 1) no one knows, 2) no one on Beta knows, or 3) very few people know. Basically anything slightly obscure and somewhat personal. Or maybe it's common knowledge and something you're known for in real life. Just whatever.

I'd like this to be an honest effort to learn more about one another, especially those sneaky lurkers!

Try to be somewhat serious (I know, it's very difficult for some of you

). I picked 10 because it's a significant number and will hopefully inspire folks to take some time to think up good answers. I got this idea because, beyond cels, I feel I don't know much about the majority of people on this board.

If you can't honestly think of 10 things, just list as many as possible.

Here's my list.

1.) I've only had one hair cut in my entire life.
2.) Tapioca is my favorite flavor of pudding.
3.) I won a coloring contest when I was in the 3rd grade. Got a clock radio!

4.) I was in Color Guard (Flag Corps) in the marching band at high school. Hey! Don't judge! It was my PE credit.

5.) I suffer from a compulsive need to curl paper when I'm nervous or bored.
6.) I actually like the game Night Trap. Shut upppppppp!

7.) Solid Snake is my number one fictional character crush.

8.) I don't wear dresses or make-up.
9.) I lived at an orphanage for awhile.
10.) I used to be a model and used that money to buy all of my cels. I'm on "hiatus" right now from that, however. Or maybe I've already retired and I'm just kidding myself.

Guess ill join in..

1. My favorite color is teal
2. One of the greatest trilogy of all time is Back to the future.
3. At the start of my anime fandom I did indeed buy bootlegs (

) rest assured that phase has long since passed and I buy 100% ligit R1 DVDs.
4. In 4th grade I had a teacher who would often forget test days and if you would bring in choclate (forgot exact type) she would give you extra credit per bar you brought in. That year I got straight A's and I dont remember doing my HW or studying for tests.
5. I moved after 4th grade to a different area (20 minutes away from past place).
6. Interesting enough I really like to watch sports anime but I dont like to watch the real sports on TV.
7. The series that got me into anime was DBZ. Long live toonami.
8. In college I am a business major.
9. In 6th grade I hated my reading teacher. So 3/5 days (sometimes 4/5 days weekly) I would go to the nurse right at the end of the class prior to reading and I would request to lay down due to stomach ache, pains, really anything and everything I knew. I kept this up for a good half a year untill I once overheard the nurse saying they would alert my parents to my "bad health."
10. I have this really sexy lum poster on the wall above my bed.

1. I have a scar in the shape of a nike symbol on the iris of my right eye, which can only be seen with some special eye doctor camera... I would have been blind in that eye if i wasn't wearing my contact lense... got it from shattered glass in a car accident.
2. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. (for a 26yr old around here its concidered insane) *shrugs*
3. I won a "make a poster to promote reading" contest in 7th grade, by drawing kid reading in a bathtub... bath tub in a tree, tree in the desert. >_>
4. I use to be able to put my feet behind my head and walk on my hands

7. I'm 26yrs old, and since I was one, have only had 2 dogs my entire life. A 16yr old Sheltie (i still miss her) and the current dog.. A 10yr old Pekingese.

9. I only ever lived in one house growing up, and my parents still live there
10. I was being recurited by colleges when I was 13-14, b/c i took the ACT and got an 18 on it. =\

1. Richard Dean Anderson babysat me when I was an infant.
2. I passed a CCW permit qualifier when I was 15.
3. I've had chicken pox 10 times
4. I was completely enthralled by Magic Night Rayearth and watched the entire series.

5. My first car was a truck named brown sugar.
6. My Counter Strike: Source name is tEH mAN
7. Worked in a golf club plant making golf clubs for a summer.
8. I am ALWAYS prepared for a zombie attack (no I will not save you, bringing more people only gets you killed)
9. I refelted my own pool table just because I can.
10. I can listen to a car and tell you what's wrong with it.

1. I've never had chicken pox, broken a bone, or gotten in a car accident
2. I'm an Asian Studies major at Cornell... It's been my life long dream to learn Japanese and now I am!!

3. I've started playing Magic: the Gathering 9 years ago >.<
4. I won the award for best painting and came in second for the portfolio contest at my high school's art show in my senior year.
5. I don't wear dresses or makeup either!
6. I built my own computer with parts I ordered (it's a beast, I assure you)
7. Me and my friend throw knives for fun... it's a good way to shoot the breeze
8. I'm a sucker for depressing piano music
9. I almost ate a duck head in China by accident
10. I've dissected lots of things, including half a sheep's head

Nothing like sharing personal things with strangers...I mean friends.

1) When I was little my favorite cartoon character was Disney's Dumbo.
2) For some werid reason, when I was 3 I would tell people my name was porky pig.

3) I have only been out of the U.S. twice, both times to the Cayman Islands.
4) Currently I have 13 pets; 8 of which are frogs.
5) I only made it to the first rank of Boy Scouts, then quit.
6) Like EternityOfPain, my first anime exposer was DBZ.
7) I spent most of my 5th grade year collecting Pokemon cards with 95% of the other guys at my elementary school.

During my first summer of playing golf I made a hole-in-one.
9) I watched 175 Naurto episodes muted so I wouldn't hate the english version.
10) My mom got me started on animation cel collecting, she collected Disney and WB cels.

2. I’ve seen $20 million in cash in person.
3. I have a small lack of pigment on the edge of my right eyelid, so it looks like I have white eye shadow on.
4. The one scab I never picked at became a scar (and all the scabs I picked at healed fine).
5. The only cats I like are of the animated type.
6. I have two birth certificates – one for Italy, and one for the US.
7. My eyes change color depending on what I’m wearing.
8. I still don’t know how to study.
9. For the first movie night my friends and I had in college, we watched The Exorcist, Vampire Hunter D, and…My Neighbor Totoro.
10. I don't like MMORPGs because they make me play with others.

Ohhh, I love all of these interesting answers! You guys are truly fascinating.

I did think of a couple more facts about myself, I probably should've worked a little harder on my own list

(I just had margaritas with dinner, lemme alone....

)

12.) I started college when I was 16. Not nearly as impressive as it sounds.
13.) I have the tiniest hands of anyone I know.
14.) I always ruin the surprises people plan for me because I hate surprises.

Sorry to add more needlessly, but this "getting to know you better" thing is so fun and I started this thread so I can make-up whatever rules I waaaaant. (Remember, margaritas with dinner... very dangerous...)

I'm the opposite I LOVE surprises people plan for me.

EXCEPT it's a suprise like "hey honey, I'm going to Iraq in a month for a whole year" now THAT type I do not like. ^^;;

But I'll play along:

1) I was born in Maine three days after the launch of Sputnik.

2) All things considered, I'd rather be in Prince Edward Island. That's where my maternal ancestors came from. My favorite place on earth.

3) First job?

Cleaning toilets at the family campground. Yessir, that's why they pay me the big bucks...

4) I met my Spouzal Unit when he offered me a ride home from a lecture by a radical feminist lesbian French author (Monique Wittig) and, rather than taking me home, took me to his house for a turkey sammich. Yay! A man who cooks! And he proposed to me with his hand stuffed half-past another turkey, about 7 years later. What is it with this turkey, anyway?

5) Got married on a reformed barge in Portland Harbor, Maine. (Ok, it's a nice restaurant now. But it still is a barge).

6) um, let's see... I've been certified as a high school English teacher, a public librarian in New York State, and a total nutcase for moving to Greeley. (but that's another story)

7) The friend I've kept contact with for longer than anyone else is someone I've never physically met. We met each other via Teen Magazine in 1974

She wrote an article about us that got published in the LA Times about 10 years ago or so. My 15 seconds of fame!

I have had three or four pieces of graphic art published -- one of which was a sketch of Gourry Gabvriev! woooooT!

9) Um... I was a Rainbow Girl (snicker) served two terms as Worthy Advisor of my chapter, and was inducted into the Grand Cross of Color. Oh and I'm a sorority girl. As seriously unlikely a match as ever could be.

10) I used to sell cheap shoes.

1. I played the Cowardly Lion in a "Wizard of Oz" play when I was in the 6th grade.
2. I Broke my left arm twice in 1 year

3. My favorite comic book character is Frank Castle (ie. The Punisher)

4. I enjoy playing any Resident Evil games.
5. I avoid corduroy pants like the plague

6. I don't care for horror movies, but can stomach intensely violent action movies.
7. My gateway anime was Sailor Moon back in I believe '94 or '95
8. I'm Hispanic (Puerto Rican to be specific)
9. My life's goal is to one day own a business
