I just got back from the hospital today. I had a major cramp on the lower right side of my abdomen that just got progressively worse. When I woke up one morning, it was so unbearing that my husband drove me to the hospital. We were there at 7 in the morning.
First test was at 10 (after they took some bloodwork and hooked me up to an IV). They did both an external and internal ultrasound to see if there was something wrong with my ovaries. The test came back negative (thank goodness).
The doctor told me that the bloodwork showed normal bloodcount and that I was showing no signs of infection. So he ordered a CT scan. I went in around 1 that afternoon and around 3 the doctor came back and told me what it was.
I had appendicitis, and luckily caught it early enough because it didn't rupture. This was shocking to me because I've never had surgery before and the doctor said that they were going to prep me and I was going to go in at 4:30 for surgery.
I got discharged today and I have to sit up crooked otherwise I hurt everywhere around my belly. I have three small incisions, all which hurt like the dickens. It's amazing how something that serves no purpose can hurt so much.
If you e-mailed me or were wondering what happened, there's the story. Sorry I couldn't get back to you. I know logorzat and another person I owe cels to...I can't mail them out just yet as my doctor only wants me sitting up or laying down at the moment. For those that were concerned, I'm ok.
