Nice zb, looks like a 2 to 5 hour work (hope I'm close ^^;; ) Nice artwork!

Just curious! When did you take that pic zb, right after it was just finished or recently? ^_^

Looks like there is more to that image on bottom, or am I just seeing that? ^^;; *sweatdrop* If I'm right is there a way to see complete image? Please!

Koi ahoy

Post by Krafty »

Wow, nice one, ZB! To get a Koi is an original choice for a girl because of the masculine connotations but I do love its meaning of 'overcoming adversity' and 'being strong' which is universal.
The golden/orange colouring stands out against the blue water and the detailing on the scales is great. Did you choose the chrysanthemum too?

It's nice to have a topic like this here because I've immersed myself with tattoo imagery over the last 6 months and have my own samurai one planned for middle of February 2008. Had to book in advance because I'm flying to Spain to get it done by a master [IMO] :^^: Plus, it gives me time to work out all the imagery & symbolism I want in the piece.

Cool. I think everyone should show off their tats here. Go on ladies, show us yer tats :wink:
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Aww thanks guys :D

Carla - It took just a little over two hours to get done and it was really cool. The guy who did it, Tattoo-Tony, was awesome.

Kata - yea sorry about that XD I need to take a better picture of it lol I will post it as soon as I do.

Ralph - Thanks hun ^^ Took long enough for me to get the picture neh? XD

Lauren - Thanks chicky :D

Krafty - I was thinking that too. Usually men do choose Kois but I loved the meaning as well. Being Strong is what really drew me to it. The whole image I chose in seperate pieces, the flower I did as well. You should see my collection of tattoo pictures and photographs. I go by symbolism and imagery as well and base my own tattoos from that. Tattoos to me is not just something to get done that is cool, it is in a certain aspect, a way of life. Beautiful, meaningful and amazing.

This is my third tattoo and I plan on getting many more :)

Thanks everyone for your comments!

You should make up your own mind.

Nice work! Looks like the photo was taken shortly after it was done. Still has that glossy finish to it. Interesting design.
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.
