Just started collecting cels recently, and found this forum.
Hi everyone! My name is Pieter Dijkstra, an anime fan from the Netherlands.
I've been an anime fan for about 8 years now, and have started collecting cels just 2 months ago. I have a fairly large anime collection (just over 1400 DVDs), which is now taking up so much space that i've decided to cut back significantly on DVD buying. Having already given up most of my merchandise buying, this has provided me with extra money to spend on other stuff. I figured now is the perfect time to start collecting a few cels of some of my favorite anime series.
I have thusfar purchased about 20 cels, mostly in the low-price range of about $40 to $70 (only 3 of my cels were over $100). When I bought the first few , the only thing I knew about cels whas that they should be kept in a dark and dry environment. Having just now come across this forum, i've already found a lot of additional usefull info about conservation and storage of cels, which i'll make sure to put to good use.
I've got a few pictures of the cels I currently own in this thread: http://www.aniway.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14951
I intend to collect cels from a variety of anime series, including Cardcaptor Sakura, Tenchi Muyo, Nadesico, Sailor Moon, Rurouni kenshin, Ranma and a few others.

A lot of robots are like that.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Ah, a fellow SMJ user, I see! (Sensei begins to see where all the competition is coming from at Bidwar time.)
Welcome to Beta! You have some very nice CCS, AMG, and MKR cels. Do consider setting up a Rubberslug gallery to share your beauties. And post often. We bid, but don't bite.
Silly me, while I was looking at the cels, I was wondering why everyone on Beta was suddenly posting in Dutch...

Thanks, everybody!
I've taken your advice and made a small gallery ( http://macroncels.rubberslug.com/gallery/home.asp ).
Keep in mind that i don't have any experience with this sort of thing, which means it'll be pretty crude and bare-bones for the time being. I may make some improvements to the look of it later, if time allows.

Explain your plans to me.

Nog een Hollander! Nee toch!
He Pieter, welkom op Beta
Leuk om eens een andere Nederlander tegen te komen die in ieder geval ook weet wat een cel is.
Dat zie je niet veel bij ons
Anyway! Have fun going through the topics and post lots.
Also, don't be afraid to ask questions, we're more than happy to help or give information where we can.
And never mind the Ussies here, they come with the website.
They're not all that bad actually
Kidding people! you know that right?
..right?!
