Sometimes when your nice

Post by JWR »

Those of you who Maria & I have met in person have most likely heard the story of "Maria's Bible" which is the sketch book she has carried since 1997 collecting sketches and signatures from comic artists we have met.

The sketch that started the book off was one from Steve Bissette.

Yesterday I sent off an email to Steve just to let him know what a profound effect his kindness in doing the sketch had on her.

If he had not been so kind I don't think Maria would have grown to enjoy collecting art and I'm sure we would never have gotten into Anime Cels and as a result would not have made all of our friends in this community.

Steve emailed me back quite surprised and asked if he could mention this in his blog as well as display the sketch. We of course gave permission and it can be found here http://srbissette.com/?page_id=5841

She has about 30 pages left out of the 250 in the book.

Wow nice sketch... dinosaurs are awesome :) . And nice story, too. The 250th sketch will have to be something really commemorative and special, eh? Maybe it should end as it began... with a dinosaur! Or something spaceage... space dinosaur lol. Just kidding. Whatever it is, be sure to update us when it finally happens!

This sketchbook is a time traveler and deserves to be concluded as it began. Something like that...
