Personal Collection Added to Angelic-Lair.com!

Post by Angelic-Lair »

We wanted to let everyone know that our personal collection of anime artwork has been added to Angelic-Lair.com!

The sales site is still there, just like it always was, but now everyone can view it along with our personal collection of anime artwork all at one easy-to-remember URL - www.angelic-lair.com ^__^

The website design and coding took us a couple of months to complete, but we're very happy with the end result. We'd enjoy hearing what our fellow collectors think about it!

We still plan to continue hosting our collection at Rubberslug for the foreseeable future, but, seeing as how this is the first time we've tried hosting our collection at two different sites, that may eventually change. ^__^;;

Thanks!

While I like the new site very much, I find it a bit disconcerting not knowing how many pages there are for each series - especially since the layout of the cels is not consistent from page to page.

Very nice! (Yes, I'm quite sure you're not expecting that from me :)). Actually, I quite like the colors and the overall layout -- it's refreshing to see you guys doing something new with your site. I also have to say, I'm seriously impressed with Valerie's improvement in HTML, CSS & JavaScript! (No sarcasm implied... honest. Given our history, you probably would think I'm being sarcastic here).

Only one thing bugs me: on the index page image you must click to get to the page with your series list... I can't help but feel like some alternate link text should be there or some instruction telling your visitors to click the image. I think I'd just add something like "alt=click here to enter" or something to your link tag for the image on that page. But that's just me. ;)

First, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to look at our new site and comment :). It is very much appreciated.

Brenda: While we considered indicating the number of pages per section early on, it ended up not working with our overall design. We appreciate the suggestion, and have added an "items per section" count on the contents page. Hopefully that helps a little ^__^.

Amanda: Thank you for the kind words :). They mean a lot to us. Your suggestion of modifying the index page made us question whether the index page should even be there or not. It is somewhat repetitive and we feel the portal page is already a good entry point. We didn't notice it at first as we added the portal page very late in the process.

We would appreciate everyone's thoughts on the portal/index page issue as well as any other comment ^__^.

Well I do like the page, it's just that when I first hit it, I went "huh?". Then I realized I needed to click the image to proceed--hence my suggestion to add alternate text to the image so that it would be a little more obvious what you need to do there. ;) But then again, you make an excellent point--that the page is somewhat redundant. Whatever you decide to do, the site looks good! :)
