It's Finally Here! My DREAM CEL!

Hey everyone! I am extremely excited to announce an update of one of my biggest dream cels of my entire collection. It took my several years to finally get her, and patience eventually paid off!!

This is an amazing cel of Betty Boop from 1934 Poor Cinderella. I have only seen 3 surviving cels from the entire series of Betty Boop from this time, and this is from the only color film Fleischer ever released of Betty Boop.

Congratulations! I know from previous correspondence that you've been working for some time to obtain this prize, and a beauty she certain is. It's delightful that the cel is so brilliant in color and lines, and the film clip, as usual for 30s color movies, is visibly faded and color-shifted. It's as if you've perfected your time machine and gone back to spend an evening with the real Betty Boop.

Now you need a good Cab Calloway tribute band to play at your house the night you have the public unveiling. ("Rudie Valley" imitators need not apply.)

Congratulations on obtaining such an old, rare cel. I'm not a fan of Betty Boop, but I can definitely see the appeal in wanting to own such an old piece of animation history.

I finally finished doing the frame for the piece. And this is one super heavy frame. But, worth it for this lovely.

In case anyone is interested in framing, I used a solid wood frame painted silver with engraving in it. UV protective anti-glare plexi-glass, black velvet acid free double lined mat, with silver acid free 2nd layer mat, and an acid free backing board. The total weight came close to 30 lbs. But, well worth it! In case you are wondering, you need to use special anchor screws (forgot the names, but you can find them at target or home depot) to hang on the wall as these are the most stable and strongest for hanging frames this size.
