Indeed, that Nausicaa cel is great. I also like your Strike Witches and your Rei cels.

Toonybabe, Yupa & D123 - thank-you so much for you kind comments, truly appreciated :)

The Nausicaa piece is indeed special; but whoever owned it prior did NOT look after it, which makes me a little upset. The cel itself comprises of two layers, the 'normal' painted portion depicting the character plus a slightly darker outline trace (with finer details) on the top layer. They are somewhat stuck together now & in between these two layers is a lot of debris & dust, you can just see in the scans.
Going to have to send to a restorer to see if anything can be done.

With the Aussie-public holidays I have found the time to scan & upload all of the Cels I have been able to acquire over the last 3/4months.

* The first cel I would like to show is like my own personal 'Holy Grail' in terms of Escaflowne cels; it is an Opening Credit shot of the Escaflowne itself:

http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=341244

lol this particular Cel fills me with a Fan-boy glee as I gush over it.

* The next set of cels originate from both the Fate/Stay Night anime & 'Unlimited Blade Works' movie that was released last year. Each Rilezu were also featured in this month's A-B Awards. The art especially for the UBW movie Rilezus is simply stunning.

Rin anime series: http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=341245

Saber movie: http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=341248

Rin movie: http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=341249

* Amongst the other acquisitions is this gorgeous K-ON! Reproduction Cel of Mio from Kyoto Animation, which surprisingly after about 5-6years of collecting, represents my first actual Mandarake auction win:

I invite all of you to drop-on by if you have the time and check out the newest Cels.
My Cel Gallery can be found here:

A growing collection of Escaflowne, Evangelion, FMP, Fate/Stay Night plus other cels that are among my Favourites. No cheap & nasty stuff here.
Come, check out the cutesy female & Mecha madness!!

Congratulations on your new additions. The Esca OP is amazing in detail, and your comment on how the studio chose to film it is also very interesting. (Escaflowne is my 20-something daughter's definition of an ideal anime series.)

The others are also colorful and attractive, and very well described, which helps me a lot as the movies and series are not familiar to me. I like the K-ON cel the most, possibly because I also like the Inuyasha artwork that I've gotten from this very talented bunch of artists.

Thank-you both for your kind words & comments.

animeobsessed I always enjoy visiting your gallery, such a large number of awesome Cels on display as well as the variety & depth on offer, hopefully in a year or two my own gallery will start to emulate yours!

Sensei I too am a fiend for knowledge like yourself enjoy the delving into & research involved in trying to ascertain a Cel's actual history - who may have crafted, painted it, touched it - provides a interesting view into a show's creation.
Whenever I need or am curious about a new series to look into, or simply need to find an answer to series already watched, your Gallery is my first port of call; an absolute fountain of knowledge.

One of your previous 'tours' got me interested in a series that at that time had not heard much about 'Rozen Maiden', which quickly established itself as a household favourite! And now your latest review has lit the same curiosity for the 'InuYasha' series.

What kind things to say about my gallery! Thanks so much. Btw, if you have acquired a curiosity for Inuyasha, stop by anytime. That series is the largest one in my gallery! :D

Over the Easter break I was able to scan in & up load some new additions to my gallery. Some of the newbies include:

- a Misato Katsuragi cel from Neon Genisis Evangelion:

- new additions in the Rozen Maiden section including an Ending Credit genga:
http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=346576

- plus a new section dedicated to the harem comedy 'Shuffe!'
http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=346577

Other newbies also include 'School rumble', 'Martian Successor Nadesico' & 'CCS'.

A bit of an eclectic mixture this time around with a few different genres represented, hopefully you will find something that you will like. Please enjoy the latest additions.

I like the newest Nadesico cel, although that is an odd "talent" for the contest! :rollin

I remember seeing that Misato cel for sale some times ago. What a pity that she still has her sunglasses on, but the cel and its douga sure are great :).

Congratulations on your new acquisitions. You have a good touch for explaining why each addition is special and worth adding, though some are certainly eyeworthy in their own right. My favorites are

(predictably) the fine pan sketch of Sinku/Shinku drinking tea. She is such a strong, dominating character that the vulnerable moments are amazingly powerful.

(also predictably) the unusual shadows-and-highlights cel from the CCS Movie 2 (Sealed Card). (approximate screencap). You're right that this effect was very work-intensive, as the filtered light through the tree on Sakura, Yukito, and the park bench where they are having ice cream is very complicated and eerie, as the shadows aren't smooth but jagged-edged.

And just for eye candy: your new Shuffle! pan cel set-up. I know nothing about this series, but it's a colorful, fully engaging image.

Thanks for sharing and happy hunting!

I recently had the opportunity to upload some new cels to the online gallery, two Martian Successor Nadesico and a School Rumble genga: -

The first cel is a rare treat & definitely another notch crossed off the "I never thought I would actually be able to own this" wishlist:

http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=351417

An End Credit cel showing a relaxed Yurika in Civilian clothes instead of her captain's uniform used throughout the series. This is a special Cel as the Lead Character designer, Keiji Gotoh, drew & animated the majority of the sequences used throughout the End Credits.
The second Nadesico addition is a lovely cel of the character Megumi, a Seiyuu hired to be the 'voice' of the Nadesico:

http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=351418

Lastly is a close-up action shot of Tenma from the Kyudo sequence early on in the first series:

http://celsphoenix.rubberslug.com/galle ... mID=351419

I am hoping to be able to upload some other new additions over the next week, including new Escaflowne's, FMP and more Nadesico. Enjoy!!

one of my all time top wishlist is that other yurika smile one that poped up awhile back, but that price is equally unjustifiable lol its not up there anymore and I forgot to bookmark it..do you by chance know if its been purchased?
