How often you think about cel?

Post by Alex »

Some say men think about sex every 15 seconds. As I get older, I switch my mind more and more to my other hobby. I know I think about anime cels, either the ones I have or the ones I want, all day long. The fact that I am browsing AB and type up a message during my lunch break at work may sound insane to some folks.

How often do you think about cel?

Regardless of how busy I am or not, I have my daily ritual of coffee and Tennimon hunting. So at the very least I think of cels thirty minutes to an hour daily. Which is kinda scary when I actually think about it, seeing as this has been my routine for many years now. Makes me wonder if I were to quit, would I have withdraws? :wow:

Reading that over I realize Tennimon is like my morning news :cucu

At any given moment, a study once allegedly showed, a third of the students in any given class were thinking about sex. This can be experimentally verified by giving an assignment and saying, "all of you will get an F unless you [do something sensible, like doublespace your paper]." One third of the papers will be turned in singlespaced. If you give the instructions twice, then only one ninth of the papers will be turned in singlespaced. Three times: one-27th, and so on.

Fortunately, not as many are thinking about cels, as demonstrated by my (relative) success in auctions. Still, like Otakusin, I always check my "trap line" before starting my work day. (Happily for Otakusin, Tennimon is only one trap in the line, and no longer the one quickest to trigger.)

I am probably on AB and RS every second that I'm awake. When I'm sleeping I dream about cels and my favorite anime. I have a serious addiction but I'm not even sorry. :nuts

I constantly think about cels. Must get more....must find more. I do my cel search at least once a day.

Secret Fishing Hole

Very interesting point, I guess most seasoned cel collectors all have a or multiple "trap line" like secret fishing holes where we use certain technique or sources to find that rare cel(s) before the others.

I, too, have my "trap line" to detect prays. Glad I don't collect Tennimon, so no crossing with otakusin.

I don't think about cels constantly, but at least once everyday or throughout the day. It's certainly an addictive hobby. :)

I have a bad angel in the form of Sesshoumaru who insists that I must check the stores, YJ, RS and the boards to see if there's something on sale that I can afford and that I might like. The bad sexy angel insists that some things that are totally out of my league would look wonderful in my collection, and keeps saying why do you keep on working, but for buying the things you want?

Then there's the good angel in the form of Inuyasha who keeps telling me that I've already spent too much (he sounds like Tamahome sometimes X| ), that I have too many cels, that the money exchange plus the fees and shipping charges are killing my CC and bank account, that if I had saved all the money I've spent in cels and had it in my hands now I could fly to so many countries... When this angel gets too annoying I just say Osuwari and the bad angel makes fun of him.

/heh

I always have time at work to check everything during the day, I also get bored at work and while I'm at a phone call or sending something heavy on the email or doing something that allows me to do a second thing, I go and check the boards, galleries, dealers, etc.

Now Im starting to learn how to paint with watercolor so I can make my own backgrounds... my good angel is telling me that I lost it.

I don't really think about cels unless there's an auction going on or I'm on the computer browsing. But saying that going on Beta and searching eBay is usually what I do first when I get on the computer as it's always interesting to see what's going on/available.
