I'm so unmovitvated! (This is a general rant, be warned)

It's March, and I haven't made a single update to my gallery this year. I'm just so unmotivated it's not even funny. >_< It's just so much easier to just slide the cels/sketches in their proper place in the books and not bother with scanning and resizeing and writing of the htmls. Ever feel like to heck with galleries and just take everything down?

I was unmotivated also! Until everyone on the board like Cordelia and Mizducky were talking about how they didn't have time to add comments! And that they do love their cels!

I have to agree!

Updating takes an insanely long time!

But.... this one Sketch has motivated me to get screencaps and videos for every sketch I update from now on!

Heck...I don't even feel like putting my artwork away. I just cover it with something to keep it out of the indirect light.

I recently made a decision to upload sellers scans. If I ever feel like scanning again I'll do that after all my half-decent (*) seller's scans are up.

(*) - By "half-decent" I mean the ITEM itself is half-decent not that the SCAN is half-decent. If the scan is only 40 X 50 pixels and looks like hell I'll upload that too.

I use the seller's scan whenever I can, usually because they can fit the whole cel into a scanner, and it's just easier.

Otherwise, I never buy enough to have too many and get lazy about it

I know what you mean. I haven't updated since July last year. I think I'll be getting to it before the end of the month. But, I'm not very motivated to do everything that is required for updating.

Hey kamidake, I can completely understand. However, If I am not mistaken you did place several new JK sketches up a week or two ago.. I meant to let you know but forgot

Anyways, when I get an order and say "heck ill just wait till the next one to scan" by the time it comes I get extremely lazy (Did this a few months back and since then have tried to upload ASAP when i get them due to the fact that the update that time took 12 hours to do

). I think that if i dont put them up the same day or 2-3 days after now I wouldn't be motivated to put them up at all..

Edit: I just noticed your last question. To be honesty I sometimes do think about taking it all down and having my gallery private. Someone told me about a person who lives in a certain state and has recently bought some JK sketches. I of course am curious so I request to see if the person can get her friend to scan them in and show me (I even told the person to mention my gallery so she knows I am a collector from the series and to show how much of a fan I am etc) well it ended up that she still refused to scan them and show me. Now this pissed me off because now she knows of my gallery and can freely check my updates

I usually get my cel page updated within a day of getting the cels and I've recently been working on getting screen captures, so I'm not having too many motivational problems.

I never think about taking my gallery down, because that would take effort.

But yeah, updating can be such a chore sometimes. For me, there's several steps involved with updating and sometimes I just don't feel like doing it. Or I don't have the time. For whatever reasons, updating just doesn't happen as often anymore.

I get into moods. Lately, I've been in a no updating mood. I haven't bought anything for a while due to financial reasons, but I haven't felt like putting up what I have. I have scans for most of it, but I really just don't feel like writing. Plus, two of the cels are pan cels that are going to need rescanning to piece them together right.

They're in that odd size range that is too big for one pass under the scanner but too small to only do in two pieces due to the shape of my scanner.

I think that's what set me off into my no-updating funk.

Kym-chan had an update! You should too!

On the big pan cels! Just use a camera! It works just as good as a scanner!

Atleast I think, my camera works better then my scanner! I have a sony camera and a canon scanner that I like using!

Yeah . . . the sad thing is, one of the cels I haven't put up yet is one he gave me for Valentine's/White Day. Just so laaaaazy.

It's really more about the writing than anything else. I like to put detailed comments about my cels, but I just haven't felt like writing comments recently. I know that if I put them up with crappy comments or sparse comments, I'll probably never change them. I have a hard time going back to edit anything I've done, even outside of cel collecting.

While photos are better than nothing, scans are so much better than pictures (unless you spend a lot of time and effort on the pictures and know what you're doing).
