Cel Open House 2008 website is up and running ^_^

Post by RalphVboy »

EDIT: 03/22/08 Latest Post

My apologies for coming up late with the website, long story short I was without internet at home for 4 days (don't get me started about Verizon Fios customer service :x ). But the website is done now :) It's much more low-tech and less-organized than I was planning it to be, but because of time constraints I couldn't help it. Sorry :hurt: Anywho, here is the link:

http://www.freewebs.com/ralphvboy/index.htm

Everyone who wanted to participate should be there. If you notice any major mistakes or anything, please address them to me and I'll get on it ASAP. Let the feedback begin ^___^

EDIT: 03/17/08 Latest Post

Again, if you e-mailed/PM'd me and don't see your name here do let me know. I'll add you right away. Beyond those special cases though where e-mails/PM's weren't recieved, registration is closed. The website should be up and running on March 21st :D I ask that those of you who would like to add or subtract questions to please get back to me by March 20th if possible.

To answer the question about response-time deadlines, I had initially said 30 days would be best. Seeing the list though, I'd go ahead and extend it to 45 days. I know lots of you have work, school, family (some of y'all have all of those :hurt: ), etc. so 45 days would be best for everyone IMO. Again though, those of you who end up taking a little longer because of certain issues (ie. traveling, work, school, etc.) don't worry! It's ok to be a little behind in responding. Let's just not make it a 3-4 month Cel Open House and all will be well :P

If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns feel free to let me know. I'll respond ASAP ^_^

EDIT: 02/27/08 Here's the latest post:

I'm glad to see there's still interest in doing the Open House. Consider it a-go then :)
iwakuralain16 wrote:Will there be a seperate website set up for it again this year?
Yep, a seperate website will be setup that lists the participants, their websites, as well as their questions if the submit any. Regarding questions, I think that submitting up to 5 questions is enough but we'll go ahead and set the limit at 10. Though keep in mind if you do not want any specific questions answered, or can't think of any questions, that's ok. It's just optional :)

Really the only requirement for participating in the Cel Open House is to make sure you leave feedback for everybody who enters. For those wishing to participate in the open house please PM me or e-mail me at: RalphVBoy@yahoo.com

With the follwing info:

1. Your Beta/RS handle :P
2. URL to your website (non-RS websites are more than welcome)
3. The questions you have for your visitors, if any.

We'll leave the option of participating in the Cel Open House availble for 2 weeks, in case those who don't frequent Anime-Beta often haven't had a chance to see this yet. This will also give time for anybody who wants to create a gallery or "spruce" theirs up a bit to do so :D All who want to participate please e-mail me by Wednesday, March 12th. The weekend following that Wednesday we'll have the Cel Open House 2008 website on-line.

From the time the website goes on-line, I'd like for it to take no more than 30 days for everybody to be finished with giving their feedback. Should it take anybody a bit longer, don't be worried. We're not going to shun or stone anyone :P I'd say that 30 days is a decent amount of time to set as a desired timeline though.

If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns feel free to post them here. If it's something you want to ask privately you can PM me or e-mail me at RalphVboy@yahoo.com

Thanks again to the original organizers of this event, and those of you who want to keep this Open House tradition alive. I'm sure it'll be very fun, as it always is ^_^

Original post:

Hiya everybody ^_^

I noticed last year that we didn't have a Cel Open House and was wondering if any of y'all would be interested in participating in one for this year. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the thread to the last Open House held:

http://www.anime-beta.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=19263

and here's a link to the last Open House website:

http://www.zetsuai.eu/2ndAnnualOpenHouse/index.html

Basically the whole point of the Cel Open House is for everyone to be able to view eachother's galleries and artwork (perhaps some art/galleries you've never viewed before), offer constructive criticism, and rate a gallery if you're into that. Anywho, just wanting to see if anyone is interested in participating in another one.

Oh and on a sidenote I wanna thank Ms. Poe, Zetsuai and Welcome Consumer for the past Open Houses (my apologies if anyone else was involved and I forgot to mention, gotta horrible memory @@; ). It's a fun event and I'd like to see it continue ^_^

yay ... Open House ... (^___^) ...

I'm definitely in ... the feedback always helped me to improve my gallery and it is currently necessary for me again I fear, cause a lot of people who voted for me in the past came back and worsen it, so I'd love to know what I can make better to change this again ...

can't wait that you start this event again ... (^.^) ...

Great idea Ralphy! :D I'd love to participate again, but I'm not sure I'll be able to. But to anyone who is new or has never done this event before, I would highly recommend taking the time to participate. It's a wonderfully enlightening experience and a great way to get to know your fellow collectors. Good luck!

Sure, I actually was wondering why it didn't happen this past Sept. This time around I can actually participate (last time my collection was only 3-5 pieces)
