Nene's huge mostly BGC update!

Post by Nene »

I've never been one to "show-off" but to hell with it. I'm super happy with this update, especially two items in particular. But I will save the best until last and list my cheaper (but equally as nice) pieces first. ^_^

Fanart

My new homepage banner is the latest fanart I had commissioned featuring a sexy Nene upon her motorbike. One of my new acquisitions noticeably inspired me to get this piece done. I'm loving Sarah Myer's work right now (incase it wasn't obvious). ^_~

Bubblegum Crisis

Naomi & Gibson - The happy couple before the traumatic incident happened. I always wanted a Naomi cel from this particular scene and to get Gib in it too was a bonus.

Sylvie - Courtesy of Priss-chan, I have a lovely sketch of Sylvie trapped inside the Battlemover. I really like the detail.

Nene - Poor Nene's getting a punch from a Boomer. This cel matches a same-sequence cel I have but I feel she looks more shocked from initial impact in this one. I like both cels for their different qualities.

Ranma 1/2

Ryoga - Another tank top Ryoga. Sometimes I feel so shallow... ^_~

Tenchi Muyo

Aeka - A very pretty cel of the character. It's hard to find good OVA Aekas nowadays so I was delighted when I saw this one.

Yosho 1 & Yosho 2 - After a round on Ebay with no sale, I couldn't bear to see them go yet so I decided to keep my Yoshos afterall.

And finally....

Bubblegum Crisis Hankens

Nene's Summer Vacation - I'm not sure if the guy who sold me this would appreciate me disclosing his name or not but a few people remember who had it before me. A massive thank you goes out to him nonetheless for making a dream come true.

Priss Asagiri - It took almost three weeks in total from the auction win date to get to me but it was worth the wait. Priss looks so pretty here.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd ever get a BGC hanken, let alone two in such a small space of time. These mean so much to me. ^_^

You already know what I think!! But I'm glad (as I'm sure you are) that they arrived safely!

Two words that would best describe this update, would be...

Hehe thanks for the replies everyone, it's fun to see other peoples' reactions were the same as mine. I was all "WOAH! How did I end up with these?!". ^_^

But yeah, I've been on a high for quite a while about the hankens, I've felt like I'm near to exploding. Who needs drugs? lol. I hesitated over posting them due to flamers but eh... who cares, I'd rather people see them. ^_^

And I found out that Wedding Dress Boxes are great storage solutions for huge cels! lol.

My updates never get this much attention (if any, ha)...but then again, I don't usually do huge updates, and I'll never be able to afford hankens in this lifetime  I don't own a CC, I don't trust myself with them. My student loans are bad enough, thank you!

It would seem we're both competing for the title of BGC Cel Queen. Fun times...

*cough* I can't be completely bitter. She told me *if* she ever decides to sell Priss (won't happen, but I can dream) I get first dibs :^^:

Hehe that's a fun title. But I don't really see cel collecting as a competition. It's my main hobby more than anything. ^_^ I rarely publicise my updates since it often feels like it's just to make other people jealous and I don't like intentionally doing that but I think this time I needed an outlet to explode with joy more than anything. Contrary to belief, my gallery is only there so I can regularly view my pieces without getting the cel books out all the time. Also I don't like hiding everything away from the world, I'd rather let the people who want to see, see.

I have you pencilled in though like you said, lol. ^_~
