An "Iron Man" update

Post by RalphVboy »

Iron Man has always been a favorite comic book super-hero of mine for as long as I can remember. I just got back from seeing the Iron Man movie and it was incredible. It totally met and exceeded my expectations and is without a doubt my favorite Marvel movie to date.

Last week I had the opportunity to meet the artist Brian Denham through my local comic book shop. He is the artist/Illustator of many of my favorite comics including one of the more recent Iron Man series "Iron Man: Hypervelocity". Before meeting him in person I sheepishly asked him if he wouldn't mind sketching me an Iron Man. He said sure, and then asked which Iron Man armor I wanted done. I left that choice up to him, wanting to see what he'd come up with. I knew I'd be happy with anything he'd draw for me (even that chrome/red incarnation from a while back lol). When we met this is what he brought for me:

Needless to say I was in fanboy-awe at the sketch. I couldn't have asked for anything better. And nothing beats being able to geek out with the artist himself about all the work he's done and plans on doing :D

I too loved the film and that is a damn fine update!

So how did you ask him for the sketch? Did you email/write to him first?

Wow Ralph; that's one more than glorious sketch! Image
He did some great detailing and wonderful colouring there.

And how utterly wonderful to meet the artist.
You lucky dawg, you

That is an amazing addition to your gallery!! You can tell how much love he has for the character. It's truly fantastic.

I just saw the movie last night. I am not a comic fan, but my best friend is and she was Really excited about the movie last night. Our movie neighbors got irritated, but screw them, don't go to this type of movie in the first 5 days of it opening and then get mad at the fans.

Please tell me that you all stayed after the credits?!?!

Love Iron Man, have owned quite a few original comic pages for some time now. I wonder if their value has increased along with my Series 5 Iron Man figures that never went into production?

You can find the link to my Iron Man gallery in my rubberslug gallery. Artwork was done by Keron Grant.
