Congratulations on a nice set of additions, particularly the "Michelin Tire Mascot" cel, which is cute and impressive even if damaged (I can't see it on the scan). I'm glad The Time is getting a good home: I'd was itchy to take on the challenge and go higher, but I figured it might be you or someone of your ilk, so I restrained myself.

And the fan cel is very nice, and exactly true to the smoky, twisted Japanese woodcut style that CLAMP was imitating. The pipe fox is a great addition to this image.

Roorock Rei-san!

An absolutely stunning fancel - i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw it. The details for that in person must be incredible.

What a great commission - i hope you're gong to have that on full display somewhere. It deserves it's own wall !

That is just gorgeous!! Amy is a wonder. It's been so long since I commissioned anything from her, though, I had no idea she was leaving the biz. What a loss...but what a stunning way to go out. Congrats on your whole update of pretties, but on that piece in particular. :)

vampyreshoujo: Yep - the amount of detail is insane, considering that it is done on a standard sized sheet of acetate.

sensei: Michelin Sakura is actually quite damaged, which is very sad. The cel is folded at both ends (through the head of the staff and through her foot). The fold at the staff end did not cause damage, but the the fold through the foot caused the paint to crack and separate away. :hurt: *sniff*
The Time was indeed a triumph. The bid I placed bordered on ludicrous, so my wallet is happy that the final price didn't even begin to approach it. :D But please feel free to bid! I would hate to think that I'm causing you not to bid on things you like.

Belldandy16: Yep, it's a fan cel done by an insanely talented artist.

Palance: I might get it framed. But I'm always so worried about line fading that I'm really too chicken to frame any of my cels! ;)

lcatino: Thanks so much! I'm thrilled that it's finally here!

funshine: Yeah, I was really sad to see how damaged it was. Especially since the seller didn't photograph the damage for the auction...
(see my comment to Sensei for more details)

toonybabe: Thank you! :)

Cordelia: Nope - it's based on an image that CLAMP made for the xxxHOLiC manga. I had the artist remove the border, though.

ryoendymion: Thank you! He was well-worth the 14-month wait!

Moop: Amy is fantastic! I was so happy that she accepted this commission as her final one. She is in the process of making a fancel painting tutorial for her website, though...

Heh. Now, I'm sorry I didn't up the bid just to see how ludicrous your bid might have been. The disgrace of being the underbidder is partially (and in some cases considerably) mitigated by being the person who determines exactly what the high bidder has to pay: the last underbid plus Judd Frye's "two bits." But at least we made sure that the lot didn't go for a stupidly low price either.

Sensei gets mad and drags his smelly old sock full of quarters back over to YJ to find something Rei might be bidding on . . . and instead finds . . .

Hmmm . . . who would have thought a lot like that would come up on such short notice. Gee ... and I bet what I bid on the Time might be just enough to prevail . . .

Watch for an interesting Tree of Palme update in three weeks or so.

Congrats again on your usual nice update. And the Miyuki "just coming to" cel also deserves a little kudo.

That is a gorgeous fancel Rei!

And the history behind it (being the last commisioned fan-cel from that artist) makes it even more special :)

I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled! :) I'll probably update next week with my new Seikai no Senki cels. They're getting impatient, sitting on my scanner. But the end of the year is coming soon (what sane school system holds the last day of classes on Friday the 13th?!), so I've been monstrously busy. :l

Blaster: Yep - this fan cel means a lot to me. When I get my other computer up-and-running again, I'll post some of the "in progress" images that Amy sent me while she was working on it. It is really a fascinating process. :)
