Rubberslug has been inaccessible to me all day.

I know what you mean, kira. I've been there.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I know Jason lives in Austin but I believe the RS servers are in Houston.

I do hope that all our friends here on Beta and RS that live in the areas affected by the Hurricane are all safe.

I heard on the news that almost all of the power is out in Houston except for some of downtown and the medical center or something like that. It will take them 2-3 weeks at least to restore the power to everyone. If the power to the server is out.. then that means it may also take this long to get them back online if they are indeed in Houston. We will see...

Gah! I hope it doesn't take 3 weeks either. I'd love to see your gallery Roboflonne. ^_^

I just say gallery when talking about my RS, though slug sounds fun too. 8)

Yes, indeed. That's the one I use to refer to my gallery all the time in public.

When I make a donation to RS, I tell others that I need to buy more Rubbers.

When I want to change the color scheme on my site, I say that I'm going to get a pink rubber.

When my coworkers glance at my computer and ask what I'm doing, I tell them that I'm looking for rubbers.

And when I'm asked what site format I prefer to have my gallery hosted on, I tell that I like to use rubber.

............

Nah, I just call it a gallery. :)

In Brazoria County, emergency management officials said the main power line for the Texas/New Mexico grid was down. CenterPoint Energy said 90 percent of its customers were without electricity and it could take a month or more to get power restored to all of them.

All our thoughts and well wishes are with the folks in the path of Hurricane Ike, looks like quite a clean-up ahead, but the Texans are up to it, they are awesome people!! Please be safe!

You might know the thread is in the one area of the forum I never go to. The website area. :emb Thanks y'all. I'm from Houston, but living in CO. I still have a lot of family there and they pretty much said the same as has already been mentioned. This latest storm was a doozy. 8O
