Should the CCS layout(s) be listed together, seperately, or not at all?

They should be listed seperately so as to bask in the full splender of that which is Cardcaptor Sakura.

It doesn't really matter, it's your page. Either way is fine.

Slowly moving forward, cause I can't find reverse

Post by pixie_princess »

Not that I would want to reverse you know. :) I'm slowly updating my rubberslug page. Otakuspot lapsed in May and their server kept dropping our site every now and again.

I'm actually surprised at the amount of items I already had ready to update, yet for some oddly insane reason decided not to. ^_^;;

In anycase, I started off the updates by adding an older Daa! Daa! Daa! cel. I'm also in the midst of prepping a few gengas from CCS (probably will be up before the end of the day today.) I do have a question though.

I have a small handful of CCS layouts of Sakura skating on ice (I think it's ice) and a few of Li as well (different scene). My question is if, even if they are not awe-inspiring, should I still list them separately, or just bundle them together in one listing? I suppose it's mostly a matter of preference for most. I really do not want to discount them fully since it's part of the animation process. Yet at the same time, without knowing the full context since I haven't seen the episode, I don't think they are as impressive as some as the genga/genga roughs I have...

In other news, I have a stack of Daa! Daa! Daa! cels, and a cut sequence from the second to last episode of Cutey Honey F that I need to photograph so that I can update the site. There is also a Drunk Yamamoto (Tylor) and some other stuff as well. They've been waiting around for a while, keeping a couple CCS cels company. That should hopefully be done soon. ^_^

http://galexia.rubberslug.com/gallery/m ... esID=28630 Kanata playing in the Viaduct cel, Sakura in a bunny outfit cel, some random genga from CCS, a couple more cels from Daa! Daa! Daa!.

I voted to bundle the sketches. Spreading them into separate pages risks having people skip over them all. I'd say feature the most interesting one and then provide links or smaller images of the rest for hard-bitten CCS sketch fanciers like myself. (Put a star beside those where her panties are visible!) :joke

"All alone in the dark" is from Ep. 67 (Sakura, Syaoran, and the Tsukimine Shrine), toward the end, I think, after Eriol's creepy magical threat of the week has been neutralized. This is, I think, a nearby screencap:

http://www.desertmoon.org/screen/cardca ... 67_514.jpg (she's turning around quickly to react to being videotaped by Tomoyo).

"Hopping along the Clow Card Trail..." is from Ep. 36 (Sakura and the Snowy New School Year) and shows her doing her card release bank (she's just about to use Firey on The Snow to devastating effect -- Kero comments, "This is why it's not good to get magical girls mad at you.") Desert Moon doesn't have a close screen cap, but this bank cel of mine is a near sequence-buddy:

http://sensei.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... emID=16091

(It's hidden, since I already have two other red rabbit cels, but if you go to "Private Area" and type in "seemorestuff" you can access the page.)

Both backgrounds, as you observe, are nice but non-matching, though the "All Alone" one has a very similar feel to the actual bg. ("Hopping" just uses a flat black background, like all the banks.)

BTW, the number in the top left of the layouts is the episode number, as you'd guessed on some. The other sketches show Sakura sliding on the ice during Ep. 33 (yep, the "Cold Ice Skating" ep.), plus two of Syaoran using his magic on The Thunder in Ep. 8, and one of him getting nuked by Yue's magic during his part of the Final Judgment in Ep. 45. Nice additions all.

Glad to see you updating and especially getting lots of good CCS stuff, cels and drawings both! Let us know when you get everything sorted out and uploaded.

I'm all for showing the layouts and, if it comes with it, the backgrounds as well.

In my gallery, I put the CCS layouts and backgrounds together, with the layout being the large and thumbnail pictures, and the background being in one of the smaller images in the bottom.

For the most part, the CCS layouts are very well detailed and are well worth displaying. Many of them are far more intricate than the cels that were used.

I really love the Syoran layout from Episode 45 :)

I most definately will ^_^ Thank you so much for the id's on the sketches and such. I really appreciate it. I'll be putting up the matching backgrounds for some of those sketches soon too. I think I only have 2 left to put up (backgrounds). After that, there are around 6 or so CCS cels. We are definately liking the series here. So far we're up to episode 26. It's definately a trip viewing it on the projector, almost makes me glad I waited till now to see it ^_^ I'll update the art listings when I do my next upload. I just have to set up my rig -which incidentally doubles as a backdrop holder. I need to take nice portraits of the kids again as well as finish taking collection pictures. :D

Thanks for your input. Thanks to you and Sensei, I've definately decided with the whole "Let God sort them out" bundle option. ^_^ I'll probably include a link on the background page to the bundled layout sketch listing and seperate listings to any pertaining nicer genga and/or douga.
