Very Awesome Update! And an Interesting Story . . . .
Hello Everyone! I have FINALLY paid off another major Disney art piece. But, this one is extra special. This is known as a concept painting made in 1938 of Sorcerer Mickey from the Sorcerer's Apprentice (Fantasia, 1940).

What really intrigued me about this piece is the interesting story behind it, which I wrote on my Rubberslug page underneath the image.
Basically, there are 4 important milestones for Mickey Mouse production
Plane Crazy, Steamboat Willie, Band Concert, and Sorcerer Mickey.
This piece was ID'd by John Canemaker as being the work of Lee Blair, one of the head Disney artists during the Fantasia production process of the Sorcerer's Apprentice, which started 1938. Disney asked Freddie Moore (the head animator) and Lee Blair to come up with a re-design of Mickey Mouse since he would prefer to have him as the Sorcerer's Apprentice than Dopey, which was the initial choice. Lee Blair came up with the Sorcerer outfit design, which Disney approved of and this piece is the one he came up with for the character. Freddie Moore later on produced Mickey with eyeballs while animating the Fantasure film.
So, this is the one and only concept painting of Sorcerer Mickey that I have ever seen, and this is the one where mickey is sitting ont he Sorcerer's magic book in the water, which was also used in the film production.
So, a very interesting piece indeed!

your latest acquisition
It makes art that much more wonderful when you have an interesting story behind the work. You definitely have a treasure there.
