Congratulations, GZ! :yay :bow :yay I already did your open house feedback, but I appreciate the care you take with the look of your gallery and with the descriptions you add to your items. And the settei pack is a strong addition for the many GW fans who like to draw the characters. (We actually still have a sketch of Quatre playing the violin stuck on the refrigerator that our daughter did in colored pencil about 15 years ago...)

Hello all!

Haven't bumped this Gallery thread since August, and since then there have been so many new additions figured I'd just hit the highlights!

Wanted to thank zerospace again ( :bow ) for helping with some key additions, notably a few Heero & Relena cels, a Wing Zero Custom Endless Waltz sketch I'd been eyeing forever, and a gorgeous Epyon!

A few other favorites I've recently added include a pair of awesome sequence mate Heero cels, another Heero X Relena, my first Heero + Duo cel, a nice Endless Waltz Trowa cel, a beautiful Tallgeese and Tallgeese II pair, and last but not least, a small but awesome Hellsing TV settei set.

All of the sudden it seems I've reached 94 (!) Gundam Wing cels in what seems a short amount of time since I started collecting. Going to take my time the rest of the year and look for 6 mid-to-high end cels to top off at 100 cels.

After that, who knows, I may decide to expand my collection to other series! I'll probably also do a redesign of the gallery after hitting 100 Wing cels to shake things up!

Anywho, thanks everybody at Beta and RS for making collecting awesome and happy hunting! - G0

Hey everyone!

Back again with an update. As I stated in the last post, my current collecting goal is to reach 100 Gundam Wing Cels. I was at 94 total, so the plan is to get the 6 best or most unique cels I can, to round out to solid 100, because I'm OCD (obviously) and it just fits. :D

Anywho, for the first cel of the so-called "Super Six" to get to 100, I FINALLY (!) won my first Mandarake auction and picked up this beauty of the Wing Zero and Epyon from the final episode!

Always wanted a proper dueling shot of the two and this one nails it!

1 down, 5 to go! Definitely have my eye on a couple beauts, but gonna take my time and see what's pops up!

Thanks for stopping by and happy hunting, everyone! - G0

Congrats on your first Mandy win! Those are always satisfying, the more so as you often get the cel in your hands within the week of the win. And a detailed, action-filled image to boot! Good luck on your run to the century mark!

Hey GoalieZero!

I hope I didn't miss your 100th cel mark! That is a super milestone, I should totally think about counting, it might help me make the decision to thin the collection some. Although I definitely have a problem letting go of stuff ^_^

Congrats on winning your first Mandarake auction, the cel is gorgeous! It is so hard to win those sometimes and I keep getting into bidding wars over Heero and losing it is VERY sad! I do however have my own Duo cel to put up, but I am so behind because of the accident that it might be a while before it appears in my gallery! :(

However congrats again, enjoy your spoils!

Thanks so much, Jade! :D

I know what you mean about having a problem letting stuff go and getting outbid. I just got into a bidding war for an ultimate wishlist cel of Heero and Relena on Mandarake this past month and came up just short!

It would have been the coup de grace for the 100 cel mark but just didn't have the funds! I cried manly tears for it. But it'll pop up again someday, hopefully!

I did however win a very awesome consolation in a great Episode 1 Heero cel (it's on my RS gallery). I'll post that here shortly in a new update since I have a couple cels coming in this week!

Can't wait to see your new Duo! I got to start giving Duo some more love in my collection, but he's just so darn popular! Still amazed at how many die-hard Wing collectors and fans there are now 20 years later!

YAY! I look forward to your update! GoalieZero, it's always nice to see these beauties go to a good home!

And please, don't, I don't need more competition ^_~ Having so much comp on Heero is enough!

Thanks for commenting on that! LOL. I now know who at least THREE of the bidders on that cel were. I was one, another friend of mine was another. I have a feeling I know who the winner was, and if I'm right, we will never see that cel again. *snif* :l If I'm right about who won, then don't feel too badly about losing because even though it felt like it, you didn't just come up short. In all likelihood, you had absolutely no chance of winning. This person has very, very deep pockets and used to open them up for the best H&R cels that popped up. I used to be more competitive with them many many years ago on YJ (and we're talking almost 10 years ago), but lately I just can't bring myself to spend that much on anything but my ultimate wishlist cel.

Wow! I was so sure you were the one who won it, zs! I know I put in the final bids at the last second, but alas, was still defeated! That cel was absolutely perfect!

:bawl Oh well, c'est la vie!

:rollin My other friend thought it was me, too. I had hoped it wasn't who I think it was, just because I'd love to at least be able to see it in a gallery. Alas, I'm really starting to think it was this one longtime black-hole collector. Back in the day, they beat me for a number of awesome Heero/Relena cels, none of which have I ever seen again. :l

I guess I'm a little late to the party here, but wow, that is a beautiful new cel, Goalie. Congrats! :) I remember being struck by it while scrolling through Mandarake when it was up for auction.

Re: Lagrange Point 0 - GoalieZero's Gallery

Post by GoalieZero »

Phew! This big summer of collecting has finally come to a close. I finally hit the century mark with over 100 Gundam Wing cels and I got to say I'm almost perfectly content with the collection as it is now, just a few more boxes to check off the list!

Thanks to everyone who has dropped a nice comment here on AB or stopped and took a peek at the gallery on Rubberslug, I really appreciate it! :)

Anywho, in the past few months, I've scored some nice Mandarake wins, a couple of nice eBay deals, and even some local steals as well down here in San Antonio, go figure!

There are way too many cels I've picked up since my last update in this thread, so I'll just hit the highlights with 4 non-GW cels and my 11 favorite new additions to the Wing gallery!

4 Favorite New Non-Gundam Wing Cels:

4.) Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam - RMS-099 Rick Dias - Episode 20 "The Heated Escape" - A10 (original unmatching background)
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386824
Image

3.) Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - RGM-79C GM Type C (Kai) - Episode 2 "Endless Pursuit" - A38
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386677
Image

2.) Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam - RX-160 Byarlant - C15
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386820
Image

1.) Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ - Judau Ashta and Elpeo Puru - A4
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=385529
Image

I really wanted to branch out to other Gundam series after hitting 100 Wing cels and to my surprise a local anime shop here in Texas was selling a handful of them for pretty awesome prices! Was able to grab a few nice ones to grow the collection. Really happy with all the ones I picked up, especially the ZZ cel of Judau and Puru!

And now for my favorite new additions to the Gundam Wing collection from this summer!

11 Favorite New Gundam Wing Cels:

11.) Lieutenant Otto Richter & Tallgeese Vernier Engine - Episode 4 "The Victoria Nightmare" - A2, AT2 END, C3
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=388433
ImageImage

I was gonna leave this list at 10, but I couldn't leave this beauty off it. The level of detail of the Tallgeese vernier engine, for lack of a better term, gets my gears going! Love all the love put into the parts on the engine and the airbrush and glow effects of the thrust exhaust!

10.) Wing Gundam Zero - Episode 42 "Battleship Libra' - A1
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386966
Image

Thanks zerospace for sending me this one! Just a meat and potatoes beauty key cel of the Zero!

9T.) Lieutenant Alex & Lieutenant Muller - Episode 13 "Catherine's Tears" B2 & B1
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=388432 & http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=388431
ImageImage

Cheating a bit here, but these two minor characters are hard to find since they only appear in one episode and they really look great as a pair with their distinctive blue glasses. Plus the cels are in fantastic condition!

8.) Space Leo - Episode 20 "The Lunar Base Infiltration" - C26
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=388160
Image

Just a really nice cel of the Space Leo that Trowa pilots in Episode 20, love the "1" marking on the chest plate and the shadow effects.

7.) Relena Darlian - END Credit "Just Love" (Episodes 1-49) - C2 (unmatching original background)
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386025
Image

I remember missing this cel when it originally appeared and cursing my luck. However, it popped up on eBay about a month later from one of my favorite dealers and I scooped it up fast. It's my second End Credit Relena cel and the thing that gets me is the dynamic pose and feel. Even static, Relena looks so energetic and ready to burst out! Love it!

6.) Serpent - OVA "Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz" - B6
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386965
Image

I've been looking high and low for a Serpent cel to add to the MS collection and this one finally popped up on YJ! for a reasonable price! Only my 2nd EW suit cel!

5.) Mercurius Oversized Panning Cel - Episode 45 "Signs of the Final Battle" - A2 END
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=388173
ImageImage

A massive 14" x 14" panning cel beauty of the Mercurius. I'm really a sucker for oversize cels and the lighting detail on this one is totally worth the giant Itoya I had to buy for it!

4.) Zechs Merquise - Episode 16 "The Sorrowful Battle" - A10 END, C6 END
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=388861
Image

My most recent addition, Zechs had been criminally underrepresented in my collection, so I was happy to pick up this guy off Mandarake for a great price. Beautiful composition makes a beautiful cel!

3.) Gundam Sandrock - Episode 39 "Trowa's Return to the Battlefield" - A2 (matching original background)
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386946
Image

I was looking for another nice Sandrock cel, but this one I won on Mandarake just takes the cake! The heat shotels color and airbrushing are just freaking cool!

2.) Relena Peacecraft - Episode 46 "Milliardo's Decision" - A10 (x2)
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=386945
Image

At first glance there's not a whole lot special about this cel, but to me, this Relena comes from one of my favorite scenes in Wing and her expression, plus the extra crisp lines and condition make it a new favorite of mine!

1.) Heero Yuy - Episode 1 "The Shooting Star She Saw" - B7 (x2)
http://lagrangepoint.rubberslug.com/gal ... mID=385649
Image

This cel is a definitely one of the ones I'd never thought I'd get, but when I ended up winning it on Mandarake, I was so pumped. This is what it's all about for me! Episode 1 Heero baby! Just an amazing cel!

-------------------

Thanks for stopping by! My next big project will be to redesign the gallery from the ground up and put some effort into really making it stand out! As always, happy hunting everyone! - G0 :bounce

A real nice update Goalie!

^_^

I'm sure it is not surprise to anyone that the Heero cel is my favorite of the updates! It's always nerve wracking removing a Douga from a cel, but it looks like you did a good job here! :vict :vict
