Pop Gallery

Post by x »

Hi everyone.
Wow I can't believe my account here still works - I haven't been active since 2005 I think.
I'm glad to see the hobby is still ticking along; though probably at a more measured pace nowadays.

I recently found a backup of my old site (and more importantly my old scans) and have finally got around to creating a rubberslug account to share what I have. So please have a look if you are interested.
My account is at http://popzap.rubberslug.com

Regards,
David.

A newbie! A new... er ... well ... a lost lamb Image returned to the fold!

I actually like your "pencil on paper" sections of your gallery more than the "paint on plastic," especially your NieA_7 clutch this NieA is a classic! and your Chobits collection is also fun (I'm a fan of Kotoko as well). Welcome back, and I hope the changed tone ("Wow I gots new stuff! :bounce " to "I gots stuff :dlook ... now what?") is in line with your evolving collector identity.

Hi Sensei and Teggacat,
Thanks for the welcome.

I'm enjoying going through my collection again which has sadly been neglected for so long.
Its interesting to see what series you were interested in and what you liked to collect way back when.
A bit like unearthing a time capsule to your younger self.

Anyway, I'll definitely drop by every now and then and try to contribute where I can.
I've sent in a few entries for the sketch contest which is a great idea and I'm eager to see all the entries.

Thanks for the welcome JD.
I'm glad you liked my small Chobits collection.

My sisters would go nuts over your amazing CCS collection. They really loved the series.
In fact, I gave one of them a cel of Kero-chan for her birthday if I recall correctly.

Welcome back to AB! :)

I love the amount of variety in your gallery. I am particularly impressed by your Neo Ranga OP cel and your Niea 7 collection. Art from that series is super rare. Congratulations on those additions. Looking forward to future updates. :)

Thanks KinoLRB.
I wasn't really focused with my collecting so I kind of ended up with a bit of everything.

I really like your Dexter's Lab cels. I actually dug out my 1st season DVD to watch some eps.
I think that is one great thing about collecting animation art - it provides a connection to the shows that we love.

Your Kagome/Shippo cel is cute. I like the windblown look from riding the bike. And your Kaoru from the RK OVA. It looks cool how you have the cel and sketch scanned together. That OVA was just so depressing to watch though.

Thanks nowherekid85.

Yep, my one and only IY cel.
Your IY collection is very impressive.

I agree with you regarding that RK OVA. I think I've only watched it once.
I don't think I could handle watching it again.

When I bought the cel it only came with the Yahiko sketch.
I think it worked out well as it allows me to complete the scene even though I don't have the other cel layer.
