Frozentime Gallery Update

Post by frozentime »

I had no idea it had been something like 5 years since I last posted a gallery update on AB until I checked to see if I should start a new thread, or add onto the last thread! I guess I disappeared from the forum much longer than I thought...

Today's update is mostly Studio Ghibli with a Gunnm tossed it.

Gally:

Kiki:

Totoro:

In case there are any VPM fans who missed the spring update, here are the additions. I've also added more to the Sequence Mates section in case anyone is interested in making a trade that helps me fill in some of the other gaps in my collection.

Hopefully, it will not be so long before I post another update. ^_^;

Great update! I especially love your Gally (such an intense cel) and your Kiki. That's an impressive number of Ghibli cels for this update...

Thanks for posting! I hope we'll see another one soon! :cheers

This is such an impressive update: three iconic Ghiblis and a top-notch Gunnm...you really can't beat that. :) The Gunnm is so amazingly detailed, the spikes of her hair, the ridges on the knife--and from such a gut-wrenching scene, too.

Thanks lunacels! Most of the Ghibli cels came as a package deal, from which it will take me a little while to recover. ^_^; Hopefully it will not be that long before I'm back in the game and updating... even if they are a little scaled down from this one. At the least, I have no intention of go through another gap between posting updates like the last one. :wink:

Thanks KinoLRB! Yeah, the detail in almost all of the Gunnm materials is really impressive. I always feel like I'm getting art, instead of just a connection to a story I am moved by. Having said that, you are right, that is a really rough scene, and certainly added to the appeal for me. Art aside, I do prefer to collect from scenes that have a strong emotional impact on me..... and this one certainly did.

Thanks teggacat! Glad you enjoyed the Miyu and Kiki, but I'm with you, in that the Totoros were really the most significant additions. Those were all really strong wishlist items for me. There are only a few more scenes from the movie for which I would suffer at the same level to acquire. I feel pretty fortunate about what I have been able to add to my collection, and am still taking them in almost daily (actually scanned them a month ago, but just now got around to updating my gallery).

I updated my gallery a couple of weeks ago with Kiki's Delivery Service and Shamanic Princess Ending cels. I hadn't really planned on adding anything significant for quite a while, but couldn't pass up the opportunity for these. Hope you enjoy!

This one is a real stunner: as you say, the matching background is as rich as the cel and the two together -- well, what a treat! Many congratulations.

Thanks sensei and KinoLRB! I collect from Shamanic Princess more for the art than the story, and these were the cels that I dreamed of owning, but never thought would ever see in person. I'm really excited to add them to my collection. It's probably going to be a while before I can pick up much else, with this so closely following the other acquisitions, but I just couldn't pass it up!
