Some gif

Post by jiangdc »

I got some of my sketches scanned and then made some gif.
Some of them are not the complete sequence but still looks fine to me.
Basically, I go with donga alone but sometimes if it is proper, I will do a mixture of genga, donga and even lo together.
Since I can make up the sequence myself, they might be a little different from the real anime.
Enjoy! :cheers

Wow, that's pretty impressive. So many of them are so fluid-I don't know how you got such a complete set of frames. 8)

By the way, while watching your animated sketches, I was listening to this. The third one from bottom goes particularly well with it. Is that a fireworks scene?

That last one looks kinda familiar. Who is it?

Get familiar with those words on YJ:
カット - cut. Everytime the seller sells sketches as a cut, it contains a fluid movement at some degree.
動画 x枚 - the number of frames in the sequence. to me, if you have larger "x" here, you are more likely to get a more fluid movement. But keep in mind, sometimes multilayer will take up this number, so check the anime to see whether there is mouth or eye movement.

Yeah, the firework scene matches your sonic game music :D

The last one is the opening of midnight panther. The character is Sonya.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check that out. :)

Well, actually it's not my music, it's by Tee Lopes. He did a great job on remixing the original Sega track, didn't he?

Sonya reminds me somewhat of Sakaki-san. I was sure it wasn't her though. Sakaki is way too bashful for something like that.

Oh, BTW. I posted a Fanart/Scene Recreation in the Original Art/Fan Art forum, if you'd like to take a look and give some thoughts.

I am really impressed that you tried to recreate the scene, that's really cool. I was not able to access that three links so I can't really see the picture.

Man, I wish I had your ambition. I have the entire cut of Belldandy summoning Holy Bell from the movie and I would imagine recreating it in a gif would look stunning! I just don't have the oomf to scan 49 pages.

That sounds amazing!!! Please do it :D :D :D
You can do 10 pages a day, 5 days per cut. :badass

Don't have consistent access to a scanner. My parents have one, the next town over.

I use reanimations a lot in my gallery to help explain or illustrate issues I find in sketch sets. I use Jasc Animation Shop 3, which is available as freeware and is easy to use, especially with the "Animation Wizard" function. Most are runs of complete dougas:

Rozen Maiden Zuruckspulen'

Asatte no Houkou

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

NieA_7

Image
Angelic Layer

And some are of gengas or layouts, particularly for long scenes where this is necessary to clarify how the images relate:

Image
A Tree of Palme

But a few are of cels, especially for series where long sequences of connected or closely related images are sometimes available:

Image
Wonderful Adventures of Nils

Image
Grimms' Fairy Tales: The Golden Bird

It's well worth the effort and the short learning curve to learn to do, and I think it adds a lot to my gallery.

I LOVE that Jeanne gif!  Thank you for sharing software with me. Is there a Mac version of Jasc Animation shop? I only found windows version so far. I am currently seeking for a software that can alter the duration of each frame. My picgif doesn't allow me to do so easily.

I admit that I'm MAC-impaired, a serious fault these days. But a quick Google suggests that v. 3.11 is compatible with MAC OS X. Good luck: it is a fine, bug-free program that is easy to learn.

Yes, this program does allow you to set a default timing value, but then go in and change the timing for individual frames. That's nice when you want a pause in the middle or if you need to speed up the timing as it goes along. This one (from a battle-doll scene in Angelic Layer) starts out 12/sec, slows to 8/sec as the character hits the peak of her jump, then goes back to 12/sec and finally to 24/sec for the last three frames:

This is the only gif I've created from something in my collection (and the only full cut I own).
