Finally, after a long time coming . . . UN UPDATE!

Post by star-phoenix »

Hey all! Yes, I still am around, bu life has been so incredibly busy, I did not get a chance to update with any of my art.

Here is a nice update of a beautiful Vintage art piece made by Sam Armstrong, a background stylist and storyman who worked for Walt Disney during the 1930's. This is an original concept painting he created of the Twelve Dancing Princesses (1930's). Sam Armstrong is most famous for his background designs for Snow White, Walt Disney's first animated movie that came out in 1937. This piece is an art concept he pitched to Walt Disney to be created for the big screen, but did not actually get its own feature film....

Very interesting piece. It is a pity Disney was not more adventurous in his choice of tales. Nippon chose this tale to include in their Grimm Masterpiece Theatre (dubbed for American TV as "Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics") and it was one of their best episodes. Congratulations on finding and acquiring this beautiful watercolor with a fascinating history.

Just acquired another beautiful and historical piece from 1953 Peter Pan and the Mermaids, made by Mary Blair.
