A-kon - June 4-6 2010, Dallas, TX

Is anyone else going to A-kon?

I will be driving over to Dallas after work next Friday and will drive back on Sunday. Let me know if I should look for you!

I'm flying out Friday. My trip is more about grieving for dogs and celebrating a munchkin's life though. I'll be there but it's doubtful I'll do or buy much . . . as DT travels back home with an extra bag of anime goodies.

Possibly.....I have thought about going.....never been to an anime convention.....something about the patrons that attend frighten me....

I will be there on Saturday. :) Though I'm only going to photograph cosplayers. All of my costumes are in storage presently, so I'm using this year to be behind the lens instead. :)

I did pretty good not spending much money. I got 6 pieces of fanart and 5 blind figures. I almost bought a gorgeous Duo cel from Curt but didn't. I still have some real life things to take care of first. Other than the anime goodies, I was highly disappointed in A-Kon this year.

This was the first time in 3 years that I've been back to A-kon, and remember why I stopped going. n.n; Just way too crowded, they really need a better space. Plus I hate that hotel - it's butt ugly to photograph people in. I love AnimeFEST's hotel so much more. >_<

Anyways, some of my photos are going up now. :3 Spent most of the day outside at the little plaza to the side of the hotel. My legs now hurt like hell from kneeling and walking all day.

AnimeFEST is definitely the con to go to around Texas. I make it just about every year. It falls on Labor Day weekend. What I like most about this con is they bring in several Japanese guests and it is at a nice big hotel.
